Analyzing positions from TV and movie chess games. Harry Potter provides a rare example of a genuine good game. http://imgur.com/a/dVgI4

I thought "The Heat" was a pretty missable movie, but this one scene where Sandra Bullock's character gets introduced to the Boston accent was pretty hilarious.

I especially like the idea that sites should be able to opt out of being linked to from Hacker News.

This article on RWW argues that Pinterest is superior to Google+ in that it allows users to decide which of other users' "boards" they pay attention to, rather than trusting the poster to correctly categorise every follower via circles.

The article says that Google+ just has it backwards, but it actually happens because the focus of Pinterest's boards is on categorisation, whereas the focus of circles is privacy.

It's a perfect example of how people's social media privacy expectations are getting in the way of good content and its curation.

If you really want to share something private with the trusted few, don't broadcast it on the internet. Pick up the phone, grab a coffee, go for a walk, send an email if you have to - just don't screw things up for those of us who want the internet to be a little more ... pinteresting.

Interesting article, but I actually moved the other way, dropping Duck Duck Go for Google once I saw Search Plus Your World.

I too think the personal search results are great. Can't understand all the complaining.
Why Twitter, Facebook and Google need to be more social.

As in: Get along better with each other for the sake of users.

Google's awesome Search plus Your World -- the integration of Google+ into Search -- has ignited a controversy.

Critics say Google is favoring its own social network.

Google says Google+ only appears to be favored because Twitter and Facebook have opted out.

Neither of these positions are accurate.

What is true is that Google, Twitter and Facebook have failed to agree with each other on business deals that would bring Twitter and Facebook content (informed by permissions) fully into Google Search.

The naysayers are saying that Google+ integration should be removed to level the playing field.

This is completely wrong. Search plus Your World is a huge step in the right direction.

What we need now is further steps that would also bring Twitter and Facebook into search in exactly the same way Google+ has been integrated.
