Every time we have come to Blue Plate, the food and service have been amazing. It's the standard to which we have begun to hold other American New restaurants to. We had something special to celebrate (honey is fantastic about celebrating - I love it!). Emily, our server, was awesome. For American cuisine, this place is lovely and fantastical. If The Blue Plate and Range were in a wrestling match I would put my money on The Blue Plate. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is cozy, and it's a place that you want to keep coming back to. DINNER Padron peppers - 5 stars (dude, I just love Padron peppers) Pork Osso Buco - 5 stars (BOOM - awesome) Ricotta dumplings - 4 stars DESSERT Fig upside down cake - 5 stars I can't wait to come back!!!!!

Incredible comfort food, like gourmet comfort food. Pick a nice bottle of wine to go with, very romantic. Take your date or have your date take you here.

Family came into town and we looked for a good all around dinner restaurant. We chose Blue Plate and happy we did. The service is quick and friendly. Great selection of wines and beer and I didnt feel rushed out after our meal. We were able to talk and converse for awhile after dinner. The atmosphere is split into two areas, the front and back area. I prefer to sit down in the back area of the restaurant. Seems there is more light. If you are in the romantic mood then get a seat up front. Might want to mention that if you make a reservation.

American comfort food, decent decor, a local gem supposedly. The service was lacking, food was slow to come, waitress mostly out of sight. Food quality is fine. If you're in the nbhd, give it a try. Not worth going out of your way for though. Known for seared scallops, sardines, duck liver, meatloaf, ribeye - An on-line review by 7x7: Diners adore the fried chicken and famed meatloaf here, but there’s a lot more that’s going on with chef Sean Thomas’s seasonal menu that changes daily. Get ready for a date with delicious. Humina humina. Rockin’ it since 1999.

I've been coming here for over ten years and it's still great. Any restaurant that's been around for as long as Blue Plate and still packs in the patrons must have something going for it. In fact, it was the restaurant that served me one of the most memorable dishes of my life: a slow-cooked boneless leg of pork served with a salt-roasted pear on a bed of cilantro oatmeal. It was heavenly. At the conclusion of the meal I told the kitchen staff what I thought of it. "You dominate pork! DOMINATE IT!" "Have you seen our t-shirt?" I was asked. "No," I replied. And with that the nearby waiter handed me a t-shirt depicting a pigs head on a butcher's block. In the middle of the pigs head was embedded a meat cleaver, and the blood dripped the words "Blue Plate". I was in love.
