Michael Wild's approachable institution for seasonal Californian-Mediterranean meals, notably duck.- Google
"The duck liver flan was a real star and a great way to start your meal."

We went here for a month-aversary celebration and it was great. The waiter was very attentive, the atmosphere is very pleasant, and the food was amazing. Try to gnocchi!

Cuisine is standard California cuisine done in an understated way, the food can be a bit bland at times and the place can feel a bit outdated compared to the hip, modern restaurants around Oakland. Superior service.

Excellent caesar salad and ravioli, and the duck wasn't bad either. This restaurant is in an old renovated house, giving it a warm and cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was the best and very attentive. Big thumbs up all the way around.

Disappointing food. The food was under spiced, overcooked and we think they knew it. No one asked us how it was or even checked after they brought the food. The salmon was dry and had no real hint if flavor or personality it's was fatty or premium selected at all. It's seems a like a place of this quality (and price) should be able to get a decent quality fish, season it with skill and cook it right. 0 for 3 there. The duck suffered even more. It was dry on the outside (not seared, just dry) and dead raw in the inside. The most surprising part that there was no (I repeat, no) seasoning or sauce whatsoever. It was just dry/raw plain duck. Desert was a somewhat crispy plain pastry that I can barely remember. It was strange that we were basically abandoned after the food came. The only that was said to us for twenty minutes after the mains came was, do you want desert? Not coming here again.

Love, love, love this place. Still going strong after all these years, the Bay Wolf is the ultimate neighborhood restaurant. The menu has a limited number of selections, each of which is perfectly executed. Service is warm and comforting; you almost feel like you're at home because it is so comfortable. I am proud to say I have been to the BayWolf many times over the years and have enjoyed each visit.

This was a date night destination on a quiet night. We sat out on the porch and it was very romantic, the food was very good and the service was pleasant. Bay Wolf seems like the place that has settled into middle age comfortably without having to prove anything anymore. They just make a nice meal and give you the time to enjoy it.

Chef Louie is an artist. Mediterranian inspired dishes are can't fail. Excellent wines. Pinot Noir made especially for them. Cute area and super quality.
