Want to hear some crazy stuff about his place? We went out to eat with our neighbors tonight. We bought a Groupon for Samurai Sushi and Hibachi in Strongsville, one of our favorite places. We've both bought many Groupon's for this place and used them before no issues in the same situation. We've been here for many times in the last 5 years, since they opened. We've used Groupon's here before without issue. At the time of paying our bill, the manager came back and told us we couldn't use the Groupon because our friends used a Groupon on their separate check (they processed their credit card before ours). (Groupon states 1 Groupon's per table unless you have 5 or more people). How can you assign "tables" when eating hibachi?? Side note: the couple (of 2) next to me used a Groupon too without issue. The reason the manager wouldn't let us use ours tonight because I told the hostess we had a party of four for hibachi, even though we paid separately. They would not us use our Groupon because the people we went to eat with used one (on their own separate check). How is that even right or fair?!? I could understand if it was ONE check. But, we paid separately. Ugh! So unhappy. We've used Groupon's here at least 3-4 times before no issues. But because we told the hostess we had 4 people they wouldn't honor it. WTF? So if we said we were two and two they would have let us use the groupon. I don't understand why this matters? Terrible manager. Couldn't even give us a one time warning or something. So sad. Then, at the end he told us to go to Groupon and ask for a refund to get our money back.... #groupon #badservice #wtf

Eating lunch on a weekday, and the place is near empty. That's a little worrying. The name is Samurai Steakhouse now, but I get the sense it has changed names or management since some other reviews refer to it as a different name. My salad was drenched with ginger dressing, which was tasty, at least. Miso soup was average - nothing special. The sushi is quite flavorless and uninspired. Even the wasabi looks dull green and is not spicy. I'd avoid unless you really have nothing else to do.

I worse than hated it. Called before 7 and was told can get hibachi at 7:20. Showed up at 10 after and was told on time. After asking st 7:30, 7:50, & 8:10 we were finally told 5 more minutes. Sat down at 8:40 and waitress was slower than molasses. Wouldn't go back. Manager offered me an that matters? Don't waste your time. I'm still here waiting for food.

had a horrible experience here...My kids who were in from out of town took me here Thursday night for an early Mothers Day dinner. The waitress spilled an entire coke on my son and I. She tilted her tray and in trying to catch it, she dropped the glass on table and knocked it all over me..My pants were soaked and my sons 100.00 shoes are probably ruined. She apologized and wiped table to floor, then said she would mop after we were done eating..I had to suggest we move to other side of table so we didnt have to sit with our shoes on a sticky floor. This totally disrupted the food presentation from our cook who was already upset because she had counted out shrimp wrong, then when he asked for more, she brought a steak piece instead. The manager came over and looked at what happened but didn't ask if we were okay.Had to sit with wet clothes to eat my dinner. I thought they would offer to compensate for this somehow, not even a dessert. I spoke to woman at cashier station and she just blew me off with a I'm sorry response.SO I WOULD RECOMMEND FINDING ANOTHER PLACE THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

We have been to the Hibachi in Independence and Highland Heights several times and they have quickly become my daughters favorite place. So when we saw the Groupon for the Strongsville location we jumped all over it. This was also perfect timing because it was my daughters 9th birthday and she picked hibachi for her birthday dinner. My wife called a head to find out if they did anything special for a birthday either discount, sing etc.. And we were told no, only to find 3 other tables with birthdays and the staff singing happy birthday to them. But since my daughter is shy this was not a problem and we got the impression we were bothering the staff by asking about it. When the chef came he started as usual all though nothing special about his show. The food was by far the worst we have ever had at a hibachi. As I said we frequent this type of restaurant several time a year probably 5 times. Both my wife and I got swordfish that smelled and tasted old and fishy. My children had steak, chicken and shrimp all of which were fine just very bland. The noodles, rice and vegetables all were undercooked and lacked flavor very bland and boring. As far as the service it was sub-standard. The waitress was curt and rude and seemed annoyed that we asked for anything. For example when we asked for chopsticks and a spoon you would have thought she was doing us a favor. Not to mention why did we have to ask for them, I would have expected that they would be part of the table setting. In addition when she took our plates my wife was still eating and she just snatched her yum-yum sauce right up and was gone before we could stop her. After eating just a few bites of my noddles, rice vegetables and swordfish I asked for a to-go box. I decided to take it home and try to add some flavor to it so I could eat my $23 diner. Minus the swordfish it is uneatable. One positive is a different waitress saw that I had a to-go and offered to get me a bag and helped me put the box in the bag and seemed very pleasant about it. Lastly we were at a table with another group that also had the Groupon coupon. They were a party of 4 and there was some confusion as to how may coupons they could use. A man came over, I am assuming he was the manager based on his dress and duties I had seem him preform around the restaurant. The people were really not understanding the coupon and instead of trying to help them the man said and I quote “ It is what it is, do what ever you want” in a vary snarky tone and walked away. For a family of 5 on a budget we choose our special meals out very carefully and try to get the best experience for our money. We will not be coming back to this location. The funny thing is both my wife and I saw the Groupon. She purchased 1 and I bought the 2 we used last night. We will be throwing our the 3rd unused coupon and just accept the $12.50 loss. Thank you for taking the time to read this and all though our experience was unpleasant maybe my feedback will help the next family.
