Having stayed at this hotel twice in the last 2 months, I can confirm that The George is a first-class hotel, with generous provisions, fantastic finishings, excellent amenities, and quality staff - with special gratitude to Kiah Conover and her colleague, Amanda, who always go the extra miles to make the stay extra special. No matter what the request is - for rate requests, early check-in, special favors during the stay, or delivering left behind items - Kiah will not only met but exceed expectations. Can't wait to return!

Not bad, the room itself was nice however the doors are a bit thin. I could hear everything outside including the loud ice machine. Also, my showers hot water didn't work the first nice, called down and they said they would take a look at the boiler and get back to me. Nothing. I had to take a bath and tell them the next morning. Other than those hiccups, everything else was great.

In general, I'm a fan of the Kimpton hotels and the Hotel George did not disappoint. Parking is expensive but that's to be expected in the city and it's pretty consistent at most of the Kimpton properties in popular cities like D.C, Baltimore, Philly, and New York. The George is very contemporary and such a stylish hotel. The theme of the hotel's decor centers around George Washington and walking through the hotel almost feels like you're in a design studio. Check-in was quick and easy. My attendants were cordial and efficient. If you ask me whether I thought they went above and beyond in their customer service, I wouldn't necessarily answer yes but they did their job. The living room areas are very comfortable and an ideal place to meet up with a friend and have a drink in a chic low-stress setting. My room was small but comfortable. Unfortunately my view was of a brick wall so I kept my blinds closed for the most part. One of my favorite amenities in Kimpton Hotels are the robes. It's a nice touch to relax and make you feel more at home (if you're into wearing robes). Also, i really like the Bigelow bath products that they provide so that's another thumbs up for me!

I give The George one star for a single reason: the wifi. If you don't care about wifi, ignore me. I spent much of my time here trying to connect. The staff was polite, but couldn't help. I eventually deserted the hotel and found a Starbucks. Even if their network is working - which it wasn't for me - isn't it annoying to spend almost $400 a night and then be asked to spend another $12 per day for a wifi connection? Or alternately, to get "free" wifi by being told to join a Kimpton Hotels fan club, being forced to type in "I love Kimpton" style passwords, and then being subjected to endless marketing emails? I'd rather work out of a Motel 6. If you don't need the internet, ignore me. If you do, don't stay here. The marketers have run amok.

They say they're renovating rooms summer 2015; they need it. Other than proximity to Union Station and Capitol Hill, not too much positive, hope they fix it up so we can use it more comfortably.

Our room at Hotel George was compact and very romantic. The location is excellent, close to everything in the Washington DC but away from all the noise in the city. The service is impeccable! The lounge and bar areas are very nice and comforting. We had dinner at the Bistro couple of night during our stay. The rooms were of decent sizes and the bathroom was amazing. If you are in DC as a tourist and looking to sightseeing this is the place to stay. The Hotel George is the most conveniently located in the DC area. The hotel is adjacent to the US Capitol Building, one block from the Union Station Metro Station and in close proximity to The White House, the National Mall, and the museums of the Smithsonian Institution. I highly recommend Hotel George!!!
