My family and I stayed at The George for 4 days and it was amazing. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very stylish, comfortable and spacious. We loved staying there and would definitely stay there again. It was in a great location, close to buses, train station and a short walk to shops. Loved our stay at The George.

Having stayed at this hotel twice in the last 2 months, I can confirm that The George is a first-class hotel, with generous provisions, fantastic finishings, excellent amenities, and quality staff - with special gratitude to Kiah Conover and her colleague, Amanda, who always go the extra miles to make the stay extra special. No matter what the request is - for rate requests, early check-in, special favors during the stay, or delivering left behind items - Kiah will not only met but exceed expectations. Can't wait to return!

Great location. Room was smaller than expected. Nice overall.

Hi Josh, Thank you for your review. As for room size, we offer several room types at the time of booking with varying configurations and square footage. The Presidential Suite is VERY impressive, consider that for your next stay. Cheers, Abe Liao General Manager

They say they're renovating rooms summer 2015; they need it. Other than proximity to Union Station and Capitol Hill, not too much positive, hope they fix it up so we can use it more comfortably.

I was very impressed by my previous Kimpton experience and chose George, a Kimpton hotel, for my birthday. The hotel was chic and the staff was super friendly (they always make me feel like they are happy to work there and the positive atmosphere is contagious). What welcomed me in my room were a bottle of wine, a bottle of sparkling water, a box of 4 artisan truffles, some peanuts, a cupcake, and a hand-written birthday card. What a surprise! It was a very sweet move and really add a lot to our stay.

I give The George one star for a single reason: the wifi. If you don't care about wifi, ignore me. I spent much of my time here trying to connect. The staff was polite, but couldn't help. I eventually deserted the hotel and found a Starbucks. Even if their network is working - which it wasn't for me - isn't it annoying to spend almost $400 a night and then be asked to spend another $12 per day for a wifi connection? Or alternately, to get "free" wifi by being told to join a Kimpton Hotels fan club, being forced to type in "I love Kimpton" style passwords, and then being subjected to endless marketing emails? I'd rather work out of a Motel 6. If you don't need the internet, ignore me. If you do, don't stay here. The marketers have run amok.

The rooms were amazing. Kinda pricey but worth it!
Response from the owner - 2 months ago
Hi John, Thanks for your review. The George is located in the busiest neighborhood in Washington. Between arrivals to Union Station and being so close to Capitol Hill, things get a little nutty from time to time with rates. Hope to see you soon, Abe Liao General Manager

Not bad, the room itself was nice however the doors are a bit thin. I could hear everything outside including the loud ice machine. Also, my showers hot water didn't work the first nice, called down and they said they would take a look at the boiler and get back to me. Nothing. I had to take a bath and tell them the next morning. Other than those hiccups, everything else was great.
