Let’s face it, travelling can be stressful, even at the best of times, but this is especially the case when travelling with family. Not only do you have the planning, the booking, the packing and the travel itself, but you have all of that with the added factor of travelling with young children to contend with. There are fears aplenty to consider when choosing to plan a family trip. Will the kids behave? Will you forget anything important? How do you plan a trip that you can be sure everyone will enjoy? It can be challenging, but certainly not impossible.

Have you been to a Cookhouse and Pub before? We hadn’t until we tried one recently. There is now a Cookhouse and Pub in Rhyl, which we tried before a windy trip to the beach.

There’s a relaxed and friendly vibe at the Cookhouse and Pub, which is now open along West Parade on Rhyl’s seafront. There’s a large pay and display car park opposite and also a cinema.

The interior is smart and modern and food is served all day. You can relax in a booth, on a bar stool or at a regular table, there are lots of seating options to choose from. If you are looking for hassle-free, good value dining then pop in and give it a try.

Have you been to Universal Studios in Orlando before? Perhaps you are planning a trip to Florida and wondering if the Universal parks are worth it. Well we certainly think so. Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are next door to each other and connected by The Hogwarts Express, they are two of our favourite parks in Orlando.

Whilst jetting off on a summer break leaves us all feeling excited, don’t let the nasty hidden germs of the air cabin dampen your holiday mood.

Research from Insurance Quotes shockingly found that a plane tray table can contain up to 11,595 fungal cells per square inch. Compare that to a toilet handle at home which features just 30 fungal cells, and you’ll be reaching for the sick bag in no time.

Gross! Even when these things look clean enough, they really aren’t!

28th July saw the release of Peter Rabbit on DVD. We first saw this movie during the Easter holidays at the cinema. We all loved it, it was one of those inclusive family movies that goes down well with everyone that we come across every now and then – so the release of the DVD is certainly a bonus.

It is one of those movies you can watch over and over, and its a good one to make you smile.

We’ve been celebrating the release of the movie on DVD by having a Peter Rabbit style hunt in the garden. These two little bunnies have been very busy hunting for Peter Rabbit inspired treasure.

Are you jetting off somewhere soon and wondering what to do about parking your car whilst you are away?

I’d say from experience whatever you do DON’T just turn up, book your parking in advance. There are lots of options depending on which airport you are travelling from and what type of parking you want. Booking in advance allows you time to shop around for not only the best price, but also the best parking arrangements to suit your needs.

With less than a month to go now before the new school term starts you might be thinking about your back to school shopping for your tribe, before your mammoth name labelling mission begins that is!

Some children are more keen than others to get back into the swing of the new term, but one way to ensure a bit of excitement, might be to consider a few personalised back to school items.

British cherry season runs from June through to September.

It’s British cherry season now – the perfect time to enjoy this delicious fruit! Britain’s tallest cherry tree is 45 ft tall – I wouldn’t mind that in the garden!

One of the things I love about watching the children play is how their play is inspired and enhanced by what they have seen, whether that’s on TV, or a real life experience.

During a recent family holiday to Florida we visited Gatorland, if you haven’t been and are thinking of heading to Orlando in the future I really can’t recommend it enough. The children got up close with the alligators, as well as all sorts of other creatures.

They loved the off road vehicles used by the staff and were very taken with the rangers and guides.

When you plan a family trip to Florida one of the big decisions you have to make is where you will stay.

If most of your holiday is going to be centred around Disney then perhaps you opt for an on site hotel. There are tons of Disney hotels to choose from and likewise now at Universal Studios there are park hotels you can opt for.

You can obviously choose off site hotels as well, and there are plenty of resorts around Orlando with their own facilities too as another option.

Our preferred option tends to be a villa in the Orlando areas, somewhere which is not too far from all the key attractions and somewhere that has a private pool.
