When I was a believer the grace before meals always sat badly with me. It always seem to miss a step and never thanked the farmers or workers that produced it no science for producing the technology to allow large amounts of the food stuff to be created

As much as I find their religion repulsive I would respect their request on that count.

In comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences.

So what would be the point of believing in a supernatural Deity?. Just be good to be good. You don't need a fictitious supernatural incentive to be a good person. I like that Mr Francis admits this, but it essentially closes the door as to why his religion should be relevant.

If indeed one can attain morality by one's own conscience, doesn't then, the entire apologist argument, that you need God for objective morality fall flat on its face?

Recently, there's been much debate over whether or not everyone should learn to code. Software engineer Yevgeniy Brikman says that this is the wrong question: there's a huge difference between learning programming and learning computer science, which is the more valuable skill.

That is the most eloquent thing I have heard all day. Awesome quote as I admire this man quite a bit. He really has an amazing intellect at his disposal.

Theirs a spiritual world and physical world. You can't take you, your personality, soul, emotions and will out of your body and disect it, but you could your actual physical body though I wouldn't reccomend it. Theirs a difference between someone who is waiting for God to save us in Spirit and continues to live life adding to the goodness in this world, and the person waiting for God in Spirit, abusing His grace and adding onto the madness in this world. So first we must start with the individual, and the only source who can be responsible is the individual themself. So to blame problems in general to one grouping of people is useless other then for venting out an issue one is having with their own life.
