Great, solid EDC. Anyone else own the SOG Vulcan?

The SOG Vulcan is my first SOG knife to review, I don’t know why it took me so long to get around to it seeing as I have owned this particular knife for nearly 2 years, but better late than never, eh? The Vulcan is one of the better made/higher end SOG…

The Spyderco Des Horn was one of the most interesting designs Spyderco produced in a long time when it came out. Unfortunately, as I scribble down this review, it did get discontinued. I mention this because it is still available in a few places (like on Amazon for now), and as such, if you are… Read More

I've asked this before, but what advice would you give to #preppers and #survivalists who are just starting off?

Last time I asked, most suggested starting with a food/water stockpile and then moving on to learning about first aid, wilderness skills, etc. What would you tell a new prepper to start off with?

#survival #prepping #prepper #survivalist #preppers

Prepping is just one of those exceptionally large topics that encompasses so many micro-interests that it can be overwhelming to finally begin, even if you are convinced that you want to be a prepper. Taking those micro-interests, prepping benefits from as many skills as you can learn from different fields, combining them ultimately into one huge… Read More

I'm very excited about this one, though I believe it is stainless and would prefer a carbon steel.

Anyone else carrying Imodium everywhere? #survival #shtf

When discussing survival, we often gravitate towards the bad-ass, like which knife to carry or the fashionably practical question of which tactical backpack is best. It’s fun, it’s interesting, no issues with that – so long as we aren’t completely…
When discussing survival, we often gravitate towards the bad-ass, like which knife to carry or the fashionably practical question of which tactical backpack is best. It’s fun, it’s interesting, no issues with that – so long as we aren’t completely ignoring the negative realities of survival – it’s dirty, it’s messy, and chances are, your bowels… Read More

Once again I am reflecting on the state of my tech over the past year. Did any of you make any major ugrades?

#technology #tech #android #cellphone #audio
Yes yes, I know. It’s no longer 2015 and so, once again, I am late to the party. However, as I scribble this, it’s a good 5 days earlier than the date I posted last year, so we can say we have progress! At this rate, only a few more years before I’m on time. On the tech front, not much... Read More

Have you bought any cheap survival gear that's been really worth the price? Any great dollar store finds that have worked out perfectly for prepping?

I know we've managed to snag some good deals when there are sales before, but it can be hard finding great kit other times.
Whether you’re working on buffing up your survival gear stockpile for cheap, or you’re just looking for some affordable survival stocking stuffers to help celebrate the Christmas season, knowing which cheap survival gear is available and actually worth the dollars you’ll spend on it is a huge boon. If you can save a pretty penny while not taking too… Read More
