We bought a deal from groupon, since we are new to the area. Some of the feedback we seen wasn't great, but we decided to try it anyways. All that we can say, we are very happy we did!!!! This place is great, the food was fantastic, everyone complains about the service, but it was not bad. I almost felt like we were back in Europe, they check on you, but don't keep bothering you. We really enjoyed the place, and everyone was very nice, and they gave our son a sucker before we left, which just added to family atmosphere. Perfect for a quite night out with the family, or some pints with friends. We are going back for sure!!! Thanks

okay ... this a favortite for groupon as well a favoriatie for the family -- I love Dave the bartender, he is the best. There is also a good friendly atmostphere -- a much improvement from the past years experinces. Try it.

this was my worst experience bar none. we had a disorganized incompetent waiter and after an hour of no food we asked to speak to a manager who was incompetent, rude and began physically pushing us to the door. the waiter claimed "the kitchen does food in no particular order." the manager told us to shut up and listen and alleged we order a chicken pot pie "which takes the longest." anyway. friday night, we had kids, and hour no food, no apology. these people need to stick to trailer park life.

My reviews I cut n pasted from yelp. Review #2 second chance.... OK so since I still hadnt used the Groupon from last time, we figured, one more chance. Prime Rib sml $19 lge $24 served with Yorkshire pudding, veg and a potato. Plate came cold as did the Yorkshire pudding and all the veg. Rib was luke warm but the rim of the plate was so tall made it hard to cut. Potato was nice n warm. SERIOUSLY.. When I asked the server regarding the cold food he said he would ask chef... The pudding was warm when he put it on the plate as was the veg. Great but if the plate is stone cold so will everything else be! I asked for the manager or the owner and was told "we're running things ourselves". I gave my other groupon to a family at a table as I really refuse to give any more chances or waste any more money. Dear Owners of Chequers, RUN YOUR BUSINESS!! Quality, quality, quality! is everything, get things fixed before you dont have a business left. All these complaints on here should be telling you something...if you were there, you'd know first hand. If you dont care then close, let another restaurant open, stop wasting your time and more so, stop serving mediocre food. Server did comp our drinks but when we got the bill... guess what...we were charged $20 and $25 for our meals... so even the menu wasnt correct. As a Brit, I am totally embarrassed to even call this an English pub/eatery. Review #1 Let me clarify, I have eaten hear once before which I enjoyed and when I saw the Groupon I bought 2. BIG MISTAKE! Friday 4/6. We ordered 1/2 portion of Fish n Chips and the Shepherds Pie, which took almost 40 mins to arrive. Looked decent on the plate but that was as good as it got. Fish was soggy and greasy, fries that werent under the fish were crispy and tasty, small tup of coleslaw that came with was great to de-grease the taste buds. Shepherds Pie was fairly flavorful BUT very runny. FYI its actually called Cottage Pie if its made with beef. Dissappointed, we gave the server the groupon only to be told we couldnt use it on a holiday and that it was clearly stated on the door. NOT! Living Social/Amazon were the only 2 mentioned. So not only could I not use my Groupon for the poor quality food BUT I actually had to PAY FOR IT! ($34). I used to work in an actually Chippy AND being from Scotland, so I know 1st hand how the food 'should' be/taste/made. Highlight of the visit, it does have a Brit pub feel, a nice cold Woodchuck Cider and coming home to remove the greasy feeling from my face. Gave my Groupons away! since in theory I just wasted $64.

We had a groupon for Chequers. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The fish and chips were outstanding. Our daughter loved the mac and cheese with bangers. The service was excellent and efficient. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience! We would recommend!
