Petros is really hopping weekends and weekend evenings. Located right in the Metlox, and across from Shade hotel, it has a large open outdoor portion which has a great vibe. The food is consistently good, and the tables well set up. Don't expect to have a quiet, romantic dinner here - the acoustics are loud, and big tables come often. There is a very small bar on the inside you can wait at if there is a line.

Having been to Greece, this restaurant is nowhere near being a suitable replacement. To be fair, I only dined here once. The traditional Greek salad, while resembling something Greek on paper, was another matter on the plate. The avocados on it exemplified California cuisine, not Greek, and the measly 1/2" square feta on the top, which should have been the star of the show, was more than disappointing and seemed an afterthought. The Gyro Pizza was heavy feeling, with sparse bits of Gyro meat, entirely too tangy pickles, and some heavy spread that was supposed to resemble tzatziki. Top everything off with very slow service (at a not-so-busy 3pm lunch time) and it makes for the all too common overpriced California mediocre cuisine.

Everything about Petros is above excellent - except the prices. Pretty sure it's the most expensive place in town. But if you're looking for good Greek food, well then, Hey.

I am so picky with food because am a good cook (just saying) but this spot is so amazing, I am still talking about the food after 3 months. Give it a shot and you would love it!

It was very good. I just wish that they had refilled our water glasses. We ordered appetizers, wine, and a dessert that came with quite a time gap between each dish. That worked out because we were able to eat each dish hot.

best greek food in socal, we "discovered" it one day for lunch and came back the very next day, we loved it that much! everything from the bread to the perfectly roasted lamb was amazing, service highly attentive yet unobtrusive even on the busier night, and we didn't even mind the somewhat steep price tag for dinner. we will be back often!
