RT KCTS 9: New Baby Orca Born in Puget Sound http://kcts.tv/1DcK8MN EarthFix http://kcts.tv/1DcK8MO
SEATTLE — Orca experts with the Center for Whale Research spotted a very young calf cruising along in its mama’s slip stream near Pender Island in British Columbia Tuesday. Ken Balcomb, the head of the Center for Whale Research, believes the calf was no more than a day or two old when he spotted it, and he couldn’t say what sex it is. The baby pictures, however, are priceless. Check out a full slideshow at the Center for Whale Research.

Posted on behalf of Check, Please! Northwest If you've been to a lot of Thai places and if you're looking for food that's unique and cooked by a family that knows how to cook Thai food then this is place to go. If I want Thai, I'll wear one with a nice shirt. It might be someone's home that you go visit but not so often. Watch full-length reviews on the KCTS 9 website.

Posted on behalf of Check, Please! Northwest If you're looking for fun, flavor and fusion of Mexican food, Barrio is the spot. It's definitely a place to see and be seen. And a fun place to go when you're out on the town. Great place to meet up with friends. Fresh, delicious food and a great place for drinks. Watch full-length reviews on the KCTS 9 website.

Posted on behalf of Check, Please! Northwest Really great food with out the pretense, don’t forget the Harissa. Nice place to visit, it wouldn't be a destination spot for me. I’m probably not going to go back and the reason for that is that I found the best thing on the menu was French fries. It just doesn't call me back. Watch full reviews on the KCTS 9 website.

Posted on behalf of Check, Please! Northwest Mmm. Mmm. Good. Great, messy food. Don't forget to order the beans. Definitely go for the ribs. The warmth of the room is lovely. Full-length reviews on the KCTS 9 website.

Posted on behalf of Check, Please! Northwest It's great, it's elegant but relatively easy for everyone to go to. It's great for date night and it's great for families. I think the Omikase is a great way to go if you want to try something that you haven't tried before. We're actually looking forward to going back and picking some of our favorite things. The lighting is good, the ambiance is good, the atmosphere feels nice, it's comfortable and the food is nice. Watch full-length reviews on the KCTS 9 website.

Vietnamese pancakes is a definite. The spring rolls for me are a definite. And if you just wanna have a lovely meal that’s Asian, in beautiful surroundings, that’s the place. I would probably go to a Korean restaurant in that area before Mekong Village, but for what I had food wise it was definitely tasty. I really enjoyed it. I would bring family, friends, anyone. And we ordered a lot of different things on the menu. Watch full length reviews on the KCTS 9 website.
