Visited Sabarmati Ashram last week. Situated on the banks of the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad, Gujrat it is the place where our father of the nation did his experiments on truth, non violence and community living. It houses a trove of artifacts which shows the transformation of MK Gandhi, an attorney to the Mahatma.
At the entrance of the main hut i found a quote which pretty much sums up his philosophy in life:

"I do not believe in the doctrine of the greatest good of the greatest number. It means in its nakedness that in order to observe the supposed good of fifty-one percent, the interest of forty nine percent may be or should be sacrificed. It is a heartless doctrine and has done harm to humanity.
The only real dignified human doctrine is the greatest good of all."

Recently visited the Saurashtra region of Gujrat . This snap is of Somnath temple. This magnificent temple was destroyed seven times by invaders and rebuilt seven times. This temple standing on the western shores of India is in a way a living testimony to the resilient Indian culture i.e the power of reconstruction is greater than power of destruction.
