When I met Mario Cipollina, I was 18 and he was 15. We started playing with another two friends of ours in Mill Valley.

And Mario and I really learned how to play together. We learned how to improvise together. We learned how to play as a unit. I'd played in bands before that, but I never really understood what it was like to lock in with the bass player.

And we would play every day… three to four hours every day for the first four years we knew each other. So after a couple of years, we knew what each other was going to do.

That’s really when you lock in as a unit. And that’s something special. - Bill

I think during the preparation for "Picture This" we (especially Chris Hayes and myself) were all feeding pretty heavily off each other in the songwriting department. In fact, when I looked back at the song list recently, I thought I had written "Change of Heart"! - Johnny

"Bad is Bad" - A song I wrote when I was in Clover, but as a Chicago shuffle … this arrangement was Johnny's idea. - Huey

We are flattered that Umphrey's Mcgee covered "I Want A New Drug" at their New Year's Eve show in Denver. https://goo.gl/QToKWa

I have a second snare drum to the left of the hi-hat, a piccolo snare, which I use on two of the newer songs that we’ve been playing. It’s a really high-pitched snare.

I’ll play it throughout entire sections of the song “While We’re Young." The intro on the verses are on that piccolo snare. Then I’ll go to the regular snare for the choruses.

It’s the same as with “Your Love is Killing Me." I’ll play the verses on that little piccolo snare and then for the bridge sections I’ll go to the regular snare.

It’s just a different color added to the palette. - Bill

American popular music is a certifiable art form. But since it began it has been sold as a commodity. - Huey
