Who are the muppets that keep f**king up gmail? Tabs in my email? Barf. If I signed up for email, I want it in my inbox, not buried under a stupid "Promotions Tab" that I'll never look at. I know how to use the unsubscribe links.
Dumped Google Apps smtp servers for Mandrill. Google's servers are buggy, slow and throttling. Mandrill is atleast 5x faster and no throttle. Sad Google isn't making Apps any better. Maybe it will be decapitated like Reader some point in the next year or two.
It wasn't crowded when we did it...we were there early May before permit reservation season started. There were a few campsites busy with some school kids but we had one night where we almost had one to ourselves. I still need to write that trip up on my blog....so far behind! :)
Registering for as an Apple developer for a business. I have to use the D-U-N-S database by Dunn and Bradstreet. Supposedly "the most trusted source of commercial insight...".... THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU JUST EMAIL MY PASSWORD IN CLEAR-TEXT????
Not hashing and managing passwords correctly should be a federal offense.
I'm one of those nut-job born-again backpackers that now worships the alta of the ultra-light. I started a blog on the topic many many years ago when there were very few resources out there. It's kind of fallen by the wayside now that I have 2 kids under 5 - but I'd love to tap into the conversation on lightweight backpacking on G+.
My gear list is several years out of date, but it's a great start for anyone moving from old-school 30lb+ backpacking towards ultralight.
Cuben fiber is the go - tough, no stretch or sag, super waterproof and oh sooooo light. Zpacks.com are the leaders here. Talk to Joe Valesko. a Triple Crowner. I recently hosted he and his wife for the TA Trail in NZ (the length of the country).
