"the town does not want swimmers entering the water without warning so they are preparing to post signs warning of recent shark activity in parking lots and near beach entrances."
----
OMG, there are sharks in the parking lots and beach entrances??? The invasion has begun. I, for one, welcome our new, toothy overlords.

If a state is governed by the principles of reason, poverty and misery are subjects of shame; if a state is not governed by the principles of reason, riches and honor are the subjects of shame. ~Confucius

Update for friends and family as per FEMA's advice:  I'm okay.

@fema:#Sandy tip: Phone lines may be congested after a storm, so update your social networks or text family/friends to say you're OK. 1 hour ago

Reminds me of histology class.

Yummm, epidermis cake!

Now you can have your skin and eat it too. :)

Fun fact time: The largest organ in your body is your skin. It's composed of 4 or 5 layers, all very well-designed to protect your delicious gooey center. "In humans, it is thinnest on the eyelids at 0.05 mm (0.0020 in) and thickest on the palms and soles at 1.5 mm (0.059 in)."

I may have found me a new Congressperson tonight... someone worth voting for instead of just voting against the incompetent-at-answering-questions incumbent...

We got there at 7 pm. We ordered an appetizer, and it came at 7:30. Then we ordered dinner. And waited. And waited, and waited and waited. Finally, at 8:10, the waitress came over and told us that she would comp the appetizer because she forgot to place our order with the kitchen. We should have left then. About 15 minutes later, our food arrived. I cut into the steak tips to find the centers raw and the outsides burned (I'd ordered them medium-well). They re-cooked (read, overcooked) the steak tips, leaving them all but inedible. Once the waitress delivered the re-cooked food, she disappeared. We had to go searching for her when we wanted to leave. Bad food + bad service = Terrible dining experience. I will never go back to River Rock Grill, and I suggest you do the same.
