MDLO would like to share some pictures of the cast and chorus music rehearsals of Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci.   Expertly running the rehearsal is chorus master Reenie Codelka, with the distinguished Henriette Lund providing language/musical coaching and Nicolas Catravas masterfully accompanying on the piano.  The sheer beauty, power and talent emanating from all the singers, chorister to principal, is a marvel to behold.

For more info about the upcoming performances go to www.marylandlyricopera.org

Tenor Aaron Halevy began with an education in Philosophy and a career in the field of politics. He initiated his study into opera in 2009 by participating in the the Laboratori di Ricerca e di Perfetzionamento Musicale—Corso di Canto, in the Tuscan mountains of Italy, where he studied Bel Canto technique with renowned soprano, Antonella Banaudi. In spring of 2013 he left politics to sing Pinkerton in his professional debut in Bel Cantanti's production of Madama Butterfly, followed by the role of Eisenstein in Strauss's Die Fledermaus, with performances in July, December and January of 2013. In frequenting his native home of Colorado, Aaron has also had the pleasure of performing with the Opera On Tap association. Aaron opened 2014 with the Singer's Theater of Washington as Tanzenmeister/Scaramuccio in Ariadne Auf Naxos; followed by a role in the chorus of the Baltimore Lyric Opera's Nabucco. He has also been engaged in a year-long collaboration with Opera Singer's Initiative, based out of New York City, which has allowed him to sing at the Lincoln Center and many other exciting venues in the greater Manhattan area. Aaron is extremely excited to be cast as Beppe in Maryland Lyric Opera's production of Pagliacci, which will be followed by a role in Manhattan Opera Studio's production of Elecktra in August.

Aaron stands committed to propelling his career forward by his love for the human voice, the beautiful power of opera, and the connective experience of performing rich music for a live audience.
