Did you ever wonder where Santa came from or how he delivers all those presents in one night?

As I awoke this morning to a moonlit predawn sky and lamenting yet another restless night and the requisite sore muscles, I realized just how unfortunate we are here on this world to have but one lonely sub-planetary satellite orbiting us. Our dear neighbor, Jupiter, has 67 moons circling its skies.

The moon has had such great influence on society, from the tides in our great oceans, to the advent of our calendar, to science-fiction and cheese filled fantasies, to space exploration and it conspiracy theories, to my own incessant condition lycanthropy (if you don’t know what that is, I’ll invite you over one night for a bite and I’ll demonstrate it in all its gory details).

Just think, if we had 67 moons, our tides would change about every eight-and-a-half minutes (great for fishing), I could brag that I have lived in excess of 48,250 moons (better than dog years), NASA could say, “Not that one silly, the one over there,” and I could satiate those deep hungers that wrack my body on an every-night basis (probably not so great for my neighbors).

Oh why do have but one moon? I yearn for a DOZEN MOONS filled night. Sweet dreams.

For those of you who know me, or have had the occasion to attend one of my dinner parties, you are well aware of my proficiency in the kitchen.

I have been wanting to expand my cuisine and learn the art of pressure cooking. After much research, I decided that an automatic, electric pressure cooker was a better choice than the old style "stove top" cooker that has safety/time issues during the de-pressurizing.

I settled on a GJS Gourmet Electric Pressure Cooker with14 function settings amid a slew of other available adjustments available through "Prest" (preset) keys. These include Yogurt, Saute and Cake, none of which I figured you could/would/should make in a pressure cooker.

I haven't used it yet, but I have had a hardy laugh reading the materials contained with the machine. It is obviously manufactured in China; obvious because one of the settings is for Fish/Thrimps. I checked all the grocery stores in my area, no one stocks thrimps. In the cook book, the first recipe is for "Assorted Big Bones Soup." First ingredient is pig bone, I have no idea which is correct, but the third step offers a hint: "Part sweet porn."

I am beginning to wonder if I need to move to China to work as a proofreader or just buy a domestic cook book.

Time to get out Young Frankenstein and watch it again. Or maybe Blazing Saddles.
