Shell discovered her love for performing at the tender age of four. Growing up as a military brat, Shell moved all over the United States and found out that she was most at home on the stage. Whether it was singing, dancing or acting; performing in front of an audience was where Shell felt a sense of belonging. However, it was moving all across this great country which helped Shell find her love for storytelling. Whether it was the Midwestern fields of Illinois, small towns of Missouri, to the vast beaches of California and Florida, to the hills of Texas and Tennessee, Shell learned that despite all of our differences we are basically the same. Shell explains, “We all love, cry, fall down and have to pick ourselves up again. What we have in common is that we all have a story to tell”.
While in college, Shell began to fine tune her storytelling talents by learning guitar and writing songs. During this time, Shell suffered personal obstacles and hardships as well as family health scares. Yet, she never gave up and through all her hardships she learned that life is precious.
Shell Lee Davis states her biggest lesson in life has been, “that I was born to sing my story, your story, and our story. That’s just the way God made me.”
