Happy World Rhino Day!
Africa Wildlife Foundation constructed Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary in Tsavo National Park due to rhinos' critical status – black rhino population has reduced by a whooping 97.6% since 1960.
The foundation provided funding, housing for rangers and park staff, and necessary equipment such as camera traps, vehicles, and radio sets. It is through initiatives such as Ngulia that rhinos are protected and have a safe space to exist.

Finch Hattons applauds Alibaba for partnering with Kenya to protect endangered animals. We believe this partnership will greatly contribute to Kenya's wildlife conservation efforts.

"The first talks in support of the Kenya Wildlife Protection Project will focus on deploying Alibaba Cloud’s technology for a designated area inside the Tsavo East and West National Parks. They are in one of Kenya’s oldest and largest protected areas, at over 13,500 square kilometers."

Mzima, meaning "alive", is a beautiful oasis of natural streams in the middle of Tsavo West bushland. Its underwater observation chamber provides an opportunity to watch the circling shoals of carp-like fish and hippos that frequent the pools.

The Ghost and the Darkness is a 1996 film in which Val Kilmer plays the daring engineer who hunts down the man-eating lions of Tsavo. The film is based on the autobiographical novel by Col. John H. Patterson; "The Man-Eaters Of Tsavo", which tells of events that took place during the construction of a bridge over the Tsavo river for the Uganda Railway.

"In recent times the story has been the subject of much scientific research as to what exactly caused the lions to develop a taste for humans in their culinary delights and why the males did not have manes. But what became of Patterson and what was his background?"
