Extreme preemies disadvantaged in [i]employment, income, self-esteem, marriage and more by their 30s

Researchers at McMaster’s University in Canada have studied extremely low birth weight preemies and found that their difficult start in life has long-term consequences.
Extremely low birth weight (ELBW) babies who survive are more likely to be disadvantaged in employment, income, self-esteem, marriage and more by the time they reach their 30s. A longitudinal study has followed the ELBW survivors born between 1977 and 1982.i
May we strongly encourage you, if you are a parent of an extremely low birth weight preemie, to be PROACTIVE in your child’s development.  You can have in impact in  your child’s future well into their 30’s and beyond by empowering your child through exercises such as Baby Builders.  Remember, motor skill development in infancy is the cornerstone for all future development.
Baby Builders founder, Jenna Zervas, shares, “The first three years are critical; yet research continues to tell us that the first year is the most critical.  May I encourage you to get active with your infant, especially those with ELBW.  Use Baby Builders with your therapist’s guidance to help your infant get started well to help improve their tomorrow.”

"“The Baby Builders program was recently introduced to the Kansas City Healthy Start program participants. Not only did the program motivate the parent to exercise their babies, but also inspired the parent to be more conscious of the benefits of exercise for their own health and well-being. I highly recommend this program!”
