So far, I had a very positive experience. Arrived a little skeptical since I had an old car on top of being first time female visitor at that shop. I already had a previous estimate from a Ford dealer and for my surprise this shop gave me the same prognosis but way cheaper. The mechanic told me exactly what he would be doing in my car to fix the problem and what should be done at a later time without pushing me to have it done right away. LOVED IT! These guys earned my loyalty. Honesty is something I value the most.

HORRIBLE and No INTEGRITY....I came in to have my transmission looked at and told Kim the car wouldn't go into 1st or 2nd gear I told Kim I could only get 3rd and up he then asked for my keys and said have a seat in the waiting room his mechanic would look at it and give me an estimate...after about 5 min I heard the mechanic on the hill that leads into the shop revving the engine trying to make it into the shop....I found Kim and said to him I told you there was no 1st gear his mech then states conclusively "you need a new clutch" now they are circling the wagons trying to say it's my fault for not telling the mech the problem when he clearly burned out the clutch on the hill...WTH! ...SMALL CLAIMS HERE WE COME

The first time experience was great! I thought that I have finally found a reliable auto shop around this area. However, things changed, I really think the customer service (not repair service) of this place sucks! I had done my oil change for my car last time, and it's time for my wife's car to do oil change. She has a nicer and newer car than mine because her working place is about 35 mins away from home. I let her drive a better newer car just to be safer. Because of I am taking her car to do oil change, I had to switch my car with hers. I need to make sure I can certainly do the oil change on the day we switch the car because I don't want her to drive my old car, not safe for her. I called Kim on Monday Nov 14th, 2011. I told him I would like to have oil change. I told him the car made, model, year, and everything (including I switch car with my wife and I want to make sure it can be done), he gave me a quote and asked me when to bring in my car. I told him I will do it on Wednesday, and he said OK. I asked him if I can make an appointment with him, he said he had me marked done, just call him on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday (Nov 16th). I called him around 9:00am. He told me the shop is full of cars, and he can not take my car. He asked me to come again tomorrow. I told him I had called him on Monday, and he said he is sorry. Fine! I will risk my wife's safety for another day. I called him again this morning (Nov 17th). He told me I can go right now. It was 9:30am in the morning, and I had to work. So I told him I had to work, I will go later. He asked me what time. I said around noon, and he said OK. I went there around noon, and he said he can not take my car because the workers are in lunch break till 2:00pm. He blamed me that I did not go there at the time he told me to, and he said "I told you we have lunch break from 12pm ~ 2pm". I said you have never told me that, I just know this right now! I did told you I am coming here around noon this morning! But well, moving forward, I asked him if I can come later at 2pm when the workers come back from lunch. He said just call him before I go. I said "I have had called you many times, and it's too random. I would like to set up an appointment with you. Just tell me what time to come back. 2pm? 3pm? 4pm? just tell me when." He said "all of the lifter are occupaid, and maybe for another day." I told him I switched my car with my wifes, and I want to get this done! It is not only switching car issue now, it really made me look bad in front of my wife that I can't get thing done. It made me looks like an idiot! He did not apologies, like he has all business in the world! Kim's Auto is great on its oil change services with many extra free check point services. They do not push you to change this and that. but when it comes to customer service, they suck! You have to be VERY LUCKY to get their service. They do NOT take appointment. Even if you made a time arrangement ahead of time, they don't honor it. It's first come first serve, if you can take it, deal with it!

On November 11, 2013, I brought my 2002 LEXUS ES300, odometer reading 208,618, to KIMS DSK, INC., who does business as KIM'S AUTO REPAIR, and entered into a repair contract with Duk Sung Kim to replace the rear main seal. The warranty was 8,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first. On November 13, 2013, Mr. Kim notified me that the repair to my automobile was complete. I picked up my automobile and paid Mr. Kim. On November 14, 2013, I noticed fluid on my garage floor in the vicinity of where KIM'S AUTO REPAIR had repaired my automobile. I notified Mr. Kim on November 14, 2013, brought my automobile to KIM'S AUTO REPAIR on November 14, 2013, and left my automobile with KIM'S AUTO REPAIR on November 14, 2013. On November 19, 2013, Mr. Kim notified me that the re-repair to my automobile was complete. I picked up my automobile from KIM'S AUTO REPAIR on November 19, 2013. On March 3, 2014, I noticed fluid on my garage floor in the vicinity of where KIM'S AUTO REPAIR had repaired my automobile. I brought my automobile, odometer reading 212,450, to LONGO LEXUS, where a technician put dye in the transmission fluid and instructed me to return after 1,000 miles to determine the origin of the leak. On April 14, 2014, I brought my automobile, odometer reading 213,030, to LONGO LEXUS for evaluation of the leak. On April 16, 2014, LONGO LEXUS notified me that its technician found the rear main seal had been replaced but was still leaking from the rear main seal/plate area and the galley plug above it, and the rear main seal installed by KIM'S AUTO REPAIR was an aftermarket seal, not a factory seal, which was the cause of the leak. On April 18, 2014, I notified Mr. Kim telephonically (in the presence of the LONGO LEXUS service consultant) that my automobile was at LONGO LEXUS, and again requested warranty service. Mr. Kim was offered to speak with the service consultant, but declined stating he would need to locate his repair invoice and call me back. Mr. Kim never called me back. I authorized LONGO LEXUS to repair my automobile. KIM'S AUTO REPAIR failed to properly repair my automobile, despite two attempts, and failed to respond to my request for warranty service, requiring me to repair my automobile at LONGO LEXUS. I was also without the use of my automobile from November 14, 2013 through November 18, 2013 and April 14, 2014 through April 21, 2014. I posted a review on yelp. John Kim indicated in his reply to that review that the use of aftermarket parts is so that their "precious customers" can "save significant money." In the instant case, the aftermarket rear main seal, which failed twice, was $15.95, whereas the factory rear main seal was $31.86. John Kim further indicated in his reply to that review that I have been offered a refund for the rear main seal repair and refused, and KIMS DSK, INC. won't be bullied. The repair at LONGO LEXUS was $1,450.63. John offered me $395.00, and nothing for my loss of use.
