For the first time in many years, I'm taking a hard look at my use of Google services and asking myself some tough questions. Google has damaged my trust with their announced changes and seems completely indifferent about the promises they broke.

This article is a good summary of how I feel. I've already started switching some of my search to Bing, which is less capable, and modify how I use Google search. YouTube doesn't really have a competitor, but I'm thinking about how to reduce the risk of using it. G+ will continue to be a social network I occasionally use. Gmail has been my primary email for a long time. Changing it will be serious and inconvenient, but it may be time. Perhaps I've been too comfortable. Google no longer stands for the values it once did and I don't like where they're going.

They seem to be having the same mindset as Facebook. "We do things, because we can".
