The best thing to do in a default judgment situation, especially when it comes to #childsupport enforcement, is to not let it get to that point.
The OAG does great work, but they have a great number of cases and limited resources for dealing with those cases. When you're hiring a family #lawyer, one of the reasons you're doing so is to have more control over the timeline.

At the Law Office of Lisa Vance, we have the experience and the ability to get your motion for modification on the docket.

When a couple getting divorced puts temporary orders in place, they're setting up the rules by which they'll operate during the divorce in a legal document.

Temporary orders are especially helpful if it will take a substantial amount of time to get the divorce finalized, but they can even help couples who only take a relatively short period of time to get divorced. Attorney Byrd Bonner goes through some options in our weekly blog. #divorce #negotiation #planning

What should I know about back-to-school time if I'm divorcing?

This time of year can be especially exciting for children, as they go back to school, as well as their parents. When children are facing disruptive changes in their lives due to divorce, the normal stress of going back to school can be compounded by the tumult they're experiencing at home.

spOur blog has some advice on how to deal with these issues. #parent #how to

The first thing to do, when you're notified by Child Protective Services (CPS), is to remain calm. It's certainly a frightening prospect to lose your children, and that can be the ultimate outcome in some cases.

We've seen all kinds of CPS cases over the years, and it's very likely that your situation is similar to others we've successfully resolved. #CPS #parentalrights

No two Child Protective Services (CPS) cases are the same, so it's hard to conclusively and definitively say how much it will cost you to defend yourself in a CPS case.

If your right to parent your child is at risk because of a CPS investigation, you'll certainly want to do whatever you can to keep from losing that right. It is helpful, however, to know what forces might drive those cost up. #CPS #Parenting

The best #advice I can give is to make a name change part of the divorce #decree - it's the easiest way to facilitate a name change, and as you're already paying to get a significant #legal document through the courts, you might as well make your name change part of it! #namechange #legaldocumentation #howto

If you're getting #divorced, and family members want to get involved, it's imperative to set defined #boundaries about what you will and won't talk about.

When it comes to your #finances and emotions, you want to be especially cautious - those are the two elements most critical to your case, and they are what might make you most #vulnerable to the range of emotions you feel in your divorce. #SanAntonio
