Been more than a few weeks since I posted to G+...
I bought myself flowers this week – including this amazing dendrobium orchid. I love its vibrant blues and purples. Love photographing this orchid. And they usually last forever if forever was more like three weeks. 2. What's been going on in my world that's kept me away for two weeks?

Just another blogger complaining about the weather and such. But you should read because I said "peoplesicles" and did not at all mention frozen snot.
The sky was darkening and I was eager to get into the house, shake off the day and get dinner started for the girls. Instead, as I turned into my driveway I got stuck in that huge pile of sludge the snow plow leaves as it clears the street. Thick heavy snow surrounded my tires and they spun and ...

With snow already flying in Michigan - even a little bit - I'm already wistful for summer meals shared outside. AND I DON'T EVEN LIKE SUMMER.
On Day 8 of NaBloPoMo 2013, Sarah longs for winter to just never ever happen again. Ever.

On Day 11, I give myself a to-do list that mostly involves being less of a jerkface to myself.
I've been staring at this screen for far longer than I should have already – typing, then deleting. I have no real ideas what to write about, only that I loathe the thought of laying any more negativity out there after yesterday (I survived, by the way). It's a Monday and Monday's are my least ...

Okay camera people... do you have a trusted person you send your lenses to when they're acting yucky? My #Canon  24-70 is doing a soft focus thang. I miss the clarity. I want my favorite lens to work right again... :(

Thursday Ten: I didn't have to wait in line yesterday so I managed to have other things to write about. You're welcome.
Well, I hope there are no more lines. Thank you for bearing with me over the past week as I've blogged my frustration with the process of dealing with (whee!) a government agency. It was an exercise in learning to buck up and realize that though the situation isn't ideal, it's also just ...

"As though problems are so easily solved. As though one can know what any one else is enduring. As though the answer is to always take the easy way, the way that is the least work, the one that allows you to push through without the back-breaking, muscle-aching, sweat-dripping, snow-slinging WORK."
Sometimes I wonder if it will ever stop snowing. This winter has been relentless – both emotionally and weather-wise. I am still reeling from finding out on Wednesday that my job is being eliminated due to budget cuts. My boss and the director of human resources sat me down, they complimented me ...

Because sometimes you've just gotta hope that there's such a thing as magic...
Dear Santa,. I know this letter is late but I figured that perhaps you or your elves might still be checking Google Alerts for your name and so I'm hoping that you might see this in time for Christmas. I'm writing to you because it beats mumbling under my breath to the universe, ...

Sunday was Day Ten, and I had thought it was gonna be a tough day. Turns out, I survived just fine... but the morning was filled with dread.
A year ago today. He had his stroke a year ago today. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital from there it was the hospital, rehab, nursing home… he never really went home again. I had a feeling things would hit me hard this month – because it happened last year when I was in the midst of ...

I keep forgetting to share stuff here. ANYWAY, on Day 12... I review a book.
Dallas Clayton's newest book is a children's book for adults - a review on Day 12 of NaBloPoMo 2013.

So, I decided to do it again. #NaBloPoMo2013  Sigh.
I went back and forth about whether or not to take part in National Blog Post Writing Month (what's it called again? That thing that bloggers do when they're too chicken to commit to trying to write a novel? YEAAAAH. That thing), whether I wanted to write every day, whether I wanted the fuss, ...

I spent five hours in the unemployment office yesterday. It sucks, any way you look at it. While I'm grateful to still have a job - albeit part time - the reality is, it was necessary to spend those five hours in unemployment because it will help me and my kids. But it sucks. It sucks to wait and it sucks to need the help they'll give me. Life, y'know? Just keep swimming.
Waiting at the unemployment office. I once saw an episode of Oprah – it was awhile back, of course, because Oprah was still on the air and not just on her ridiculous Oprah channel. Denzel Washington was on her show that day, I think he was probably promoting John Q (a not altogether awful movie, ...

Just another girl who likes words and pictures.
Introduction
My Twitter bio says I'm the Princess of Almost Everything - which is actually a nickname from my college roommate, and probably far more of a generous nickname than I deserve. But, y'know, I'll take it.
Bragging rights
Shamed a church into changing their parking lot signs - for using the wrong form of "your/you're". If I do nothing else in my life, I will always have that victory to get me through the rough moments.
