These are the stories of characters.  Ones we know just enough about to fear, love, hate, or pity.  This series is complex, deep, rich, lush, and masterfully crafted.  If you've not seen it, I suggest you sit down and give the first 5 episodes a watch.  This fan-made video is filled with snapshots from these characters journey, but reveals so very little of the plots, or consequences, spoiler warnings are not required.

Some say this is the finest television drama ever created.  Some compare that instantly to The Wire, previously garnered that definition.  I am not sure if it is or not.  But what I can say, with some conviction, is that the stage provided by the creators, and writers for these actors to perform on was so masterfully crafted, that these performers might have given the best performances of their careers.  And for that, You should watch.

Except you can’t show a topless woman on TV - and you can’t defibrillate a woman in a bra. So victims of heart attacks on TV are always male. Did you know that a woman having a heart attack is more likely to have back or jaw pain than chest or left arm pain? I didn’t - because I’ve never seen a woman having a heart attack. I’ve been trained in CPR and Advanced First Aid by the Red Cross over 15 times in my life, the videos and booklets always have a guy and say the same thing about clutching his chest and/or bicep.
And people laugh when I tell them women are still invisible in this world.

Ada Lovelace Day is about sharing stories of women — whether engineers, scientists, technologists or mathematicians — who have inspired you to become who you are today. The aim is to create new role models for girls and women in these male-dominated fields by raising the profile of other women in STEM.

Please share your favorite Ada Lovelace Day story with us -- like this one by +Amy Eden Jollymore: http://oreil.ly/1LLqKPv
