Our room at Hotel George was compact and very romantic. The location is excellent, close to everything in the Washington DC but away from all the noise in the city. The service is impeccable! The lounge and bar areas are very nice and comforting. We had dinner at the Bistro couple of night during our stay. The rooms were of decent sizes and the bathroom was amazing. If you are in DC as a tourist and looking to sightseeing this is the place to stay. The Hotel George is the most conveniently located in the DC area. The hotel is adjacent to the US Capitol Building, one block from the Union Station Metro Station and in close proximity to The White House, the National Mall, and the museums of the Smithsonian Institution. I highly recommend Hotel George!!!

In general, I'm a fan of the Kimpton hotels and the Hotel George did not disappoint. Parking is expensive but that's to be expected in the city and it's pretty consistent at most of the Kimpton properties in popular cities like D.C, Baltimore, Philly, and New York. The George is very contemporary and such a stylish hotel. The theme of the hotel's decor centers around George Washington and walking through the hotel almost feels like you're in a design studio. Check-in was quick and easy. My attendants were cordial and efficient. If you ask me whether I thought they went above and beyond in their customer service, I wouldn't necessarily answer yes but they did their job. The living room areas are very comfortable and an ideal place to meet up with a friend and have a drink in a chic low-stress setting. My room was small but comfortable. Unfortunately my view was of a brick wall so I kept my blinds closed for the most part. One of my favorite amenities in Kimpton Hotels are the robes. It's a nice touch to relax and make you feel more at home (if you're into wearing robes). Also, i really like the Bigelow bath products that they provide so that's another thumbs up for me!

I loved it here. I got a great deal on Expedia and was very pleased with the location and staff. They had some problems getting us a mini bar key that worked… Also forgot to bring up towels when we asked for them, but overall still pleased.

Not bad, the room itself was nice however the doors are a bit thin. I could hear everything outside including the loud ice machine. Also, my showers hot water didn't work the first nice, called down and they said they would take a look at the boiler and get back to me. Nothing. I had to take a bath and tell them the next morning. Other than those hiccups, everything else was great.

The service is great.stayed here based on reading reviews. And I agree the expense of parking is the only bummer, giving up $20 per day....ouch! But street parking was available. Hotel is nice and restaurant is 5 star french cuisine. And it was great being less than 2 blocks from Smithsonian attraction and museums.

I have never felt so welcome at a hotel before! I told them my big Guy Ringo was accompanying me, he was greyed with special treats and smiles in reception with a special bed and accouterments for gross stay.
