Want to know the top 5 things I have discovered about living with an Intel tablet?

1. I have doubled the amount of books I read - now that almost all libraries are offering so many great and new titles to be checked out with a mobile device, I can read anywhere I am sitting or going, and bring multiple books on the same device. I finish one, and I’m onto the other! Overdrive books don’t need internet access to be read (only to be downloaded, did I mention it's FREE), so reading books on your tablet are perfect for those moments where you’re somewhere that wifi is not available. I have read 18 books so far to date - 14 of those were in ebook form!

2. Windows 8 is not as scary as you think - if you’ve been updating from Windows 7, you’ll probably only slightly notice the difference! Change is good!

3. iPad’s aren’t the only way to go - Because I have had an iPad borrowed from work, I have had the luxury of comparing the two devices. And when you can’t see a website because you don’t have Flash available, it can get very very annoying. You don’t have that problem with the Intel tablet!

4. Exploring and expanding entertainment (on the go and at home) - From Pandora, Rdio, I heart radio, Netflix, Hulu, and countless others, I can bring my entertainment with me whenever I need to go! Big relief when you’re a bored passenger in a car or just feeling lazy on the weekends and want to stay in bed :)

5. It helps me seamlessly work and blog from tablet to PC and vice versa - I gave up trying to blog or work from my phone ages ago, it’s too small. But because I have access to so many cloud programs that let me save documents online and reach them anywhere else, this helps me so much. I can also reach Wordpress, Flickr, and a camera at a fingers reach!

I’ve also been let know that if you buy an Intel Tablet on Amazon with this link, you’ll get a $100 gift card back to Amazon. Pretty sweet deal if you were already thinking about getting a tablet!

Discovering new music on new (to me) apps on the Windows 8 tablet. Liking Tune In and 7Digital, seeking more similar apps! #tabletcrew #inteltablets

Just curious - how do you connect most of the time? Are you at the desktop, working the laptop, or on the go with a tablet? I'm going to be joining the tablet crew soon, and wondering how others are connecting!

Check out this pretty informative "infographic" about deciding to get a tablet vs a regular computer! #inteltablets   #intel   #tabletcrew

Techie Thursday for me! I took some pictures of the +Acer today. The +Windows 8 tiles are awesome - especially the live ones that give you notifications and pictures right from the tile. You can rotate the screen (which is really awesome for viewing websites and blogs in the long way). You can change the desktop background to whatever your heart desires (no pun intended!) ((mine is from +designlovefest )). And my favorite thing? How slim it is! Can't beat that! +Intel  #tabletcrew  http://www.flickr.com/photos/perfectperfect/sets/72157632715718680

This is my first of many posts to come in the adventures of transitioning into the tablet world. I was very lucky and extremely grateful to have received an +Acer America Corp. Iconia W5 tablet running the new +Windows 8  operating system courtesy of +Intel - and if you’re anything like me, at work I’m using the slow desktop computer they provide for me which keeps me at the desk most of the day, at home I have a laptop that allows me to work away from the outlet for about 1.5 hours before it dies, and a mobile phone that rocks my world but the small screen is driving me a little blind.

I’m looking at this tablet as a mixture of all the three elements rolled into one - the power and space of a desktop, mobility of the laptop, and the applications & speed from my smartphone. So far it has delivered. I set it all up and was out the door the next day for a weekend trip to Tahoe, and I brought the tablet along for the ride to see how it could handle during a road trip and several days away from home. I made sure it had my favorite weekend apps loaded ready for a lazy weekend - Overdrive for reading books, Netflix for watching movies, and Google Docs to access my documents on the go. I’m still looking for more game apps to download, it looks like new ones are being made all the time. Several days later and I'm still running the tablet on the same charge from when first received it, lets see how many more days it lasts.

I’ll be sharing tips on working on a tablet as the weeks go by, so I hope you enjoy these little posts :) If you have any questions about the tablet or Windows 8, send them my way. Likewise, if you have any tips, send those my way too! I'll be sharing what it feels like to use Windows 8 since many people I've already spoken to have never used it yet.

(to disclose fully, the tablet was provided for me, but I will be posting sentiments that are fully my own: from the good to the bad).
