Unable to attend the Google I/O 2015 in person? Missed out on the lottery? No problem, we provide a live stream of the keynote in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam with food and drinks.

The Dutch Android User Group, GDG NL and the Dutch AngularJS Group join forces to provide you with the best experience ever!

This beautiful location (constructed more than two centuries ago) provides an excellent venue for a sneak peek into the future of Google technology.

We will be present on the 28th during the day so visit our booth and come talk to us!

You are encouraged to browse Haxpo during the day too, of course.

Due to limited seating, registration is required: Please visit http://io2015.dutchaug.org/ and register there. You can of course also RSVP to this event, but that does NOT count as a registration.

Note: This workshop is held under the umbrella of the Appril festival. You can RSVP on this event page, but you are required to signup and pay for this workshop at the event page (http://apprilfestival.com/events/bluetooth-low-energy-and-uribeacons/) on the Appril website.

During this workshop you will learn how to interact with Bluetooth Low Energy devices using the Android platform. It's required that you bring your own Android device that supports the Bluetooth Low Energy stack (Android 4.3 and up, Bluetooth 4.0). First we will explain Bluetooth Low Energy and its abilities. We will also explain how to discover and identify individual UriBeacons.

After that, we will proceed with the Gatt Profile. You will learn how to inspect various Gatt Services and how to read Characteristics. During the course of this workshop we will make sure that there are plenty BLE devices available (both iBeacons and UriBeacons) on site to experiment with. Experienced Android developers are present to help you with the exercises or answer any questions you might have about Android/ BLE.

*Sign up fee €50 excl. VAT, including: coffee / tea, Pizza or pasta dinner, drinks, snacks and your very own UriBeacon! *

If you are familiar with Open Space meetups you know how valuable these type of meetups can be. It is very open, highly active and interactive. Always aiming to discuss, distill and find solutions for the most interesting topics, latest information and challenges which you are facing every day, in your role as Android professional. Seats are limited, so join sooner rather than later!

Skills in our group...

All kind of roles and skills are represented in our group. From entrepreneurs to testers, graphics designers to architects and of course a fair amount of developers. We need each other to build better apps and this need is clearer than ever in our every day challenge to meet the deadline on some Android project and creating awesome user experiences while we are at it.

We hope to see a lot of familiar but also new faces at this meetup, so if you have never come to a DutchAUG meetup before, now is a great opportunity! ;-)

Important: Reserve your seat here: http://www.meetup.com/dutch-aug/events/221111756/ RSVP-ing to this Google+ event does not imply you have secured a ticket to this meetup!

Hi everybody,

We'd like to highlight two DutchAUG Android workshops which are happening next week Friday, the 17th of April. Both workshops are part of the Appril Festival. The location is known, we'll be hosting the workshops in the beautiful Media Plaza  [http://www.mediaplaza.nl/] in the +Jaarbeurs Utrecht

The first workshop is the Android Beginners Workshop and is just that, an Android 101 for aspiring Android developers. It's a great kick-start if you have always wanted to do something with Android, but never had the time. (If you are a seasoned Android developer and know colleagues or friends who want to dive into Android development please be our voice and invite them to join this workshop!). More info and registration: http://apprilfestival.com/events/android-beginners-workshop/

The second workshop is all about Bluetooth Low Energy and UriBeacons. Building up on the beacon stack, but moving along with the brand new, and open, UriBeacon spec by Google [https://github.com/google/uribeacon]. With the knowledge you gain at this workshop and your very own Blesh Beacon [https://www.blesh.com/, which you'll receive as well] you have everything you need to start leveraging the Physical Web [https://google.github.io/physical-web/] in your Android apps. More info and registration: http://apprilfestival.com/events/bluetooth-low-energy-and-uribeacons/.

Extra: All DutchAUG workshop attendees have free access (€50,- value) to Appri'ls (Dis)Connected User program as well, starting at 2pm on the same day, same location! http://apprilfestival.com/events/disconnected-user/

We hope to see a lot of you next week!

Cheers,

Your organizers

Please help us spread the word on this by a +1 or a re-share. Thanks much in advance!

We will begin with a general presentation on Android architecture and key concepts. After that we present you with 5 lessons, which we'll introduce with a short technical presentation on what you will learn and do yourself in the lesson exercises. There will be two experienced Android developers walking around to answer your questions or help you out when you get stuck. We will give hints and tips on useful Android tools and we won’t let you leave the house without some cool Android swag.

We are living in a Material World

You must have heard and read lot about Material Design that Google introduced at Google I/O 2014 but are you already implementing it in your apps?

Google's vision: "Create a visual language for users that synthesizes the classic principles of good design with the innovation and possibility of technology and science. This is material design".

This meetup will help you bring Material Design to your app(s). Two designers and two developers will explain the impact that Material Design will have, and show you some real life examples.

Important: Reserve your seat here: http://www.meetup.com/dutch-aug/events/220159049/ RSVP-ing to this Google+ event does not imply you have secured a ticket to this meetup!

I wish I could update the RSVP, but "Binck Web Filtering has been set to block this site.". I hope everything is all right. We need to have some checks performed to see if it actually is. Will know final results in about 3-4 weeks.
