Went there with a group of 20 people during a busy conference, and the place, with chic, cute deco, was a little over-crowded. Despite of all the noise and hustle, I had quite a good experience there. The waitress and the hostess were both super welcoming and helpful, bringing out each course with perfect timing; they could be more attentive toward the end but I guess they were a little overwhelmed. The appetizers, entrees and desserts were all beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Following the recommendation from our waitress, I liked my grilled salmon and had a bite of the abgoosht (lamb stew), which was very hearty and delicious. I can only guess going there on a less busy night would only make the experience better.

Very underwhelmed by Fly Trap. I had the spaghetti squash, fries, scallop appetizer, and butternut squash soup. The fries were good, the soup depended a lot on the cream for taste, the scallop was literally ONE scallop, and the spaghetti squash was forgettable. Also, the cocktails tasted overly sweet. The service was great, but at the price point this restaurant was at, I expect more vegetarian options and better quality food. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I love this place. Not a huge selection but every entree is great. They take care to always have a vegetarian dish, a fish dish, a lamb dish, and a chicken/pork/beef selection. Every dish offers something unexpected (but in a good way)! Surprisingly, they also cook up among the best fries I've had, and the saffron aioli sauce that comes with it is just perfection in a cup. Be sure to save room for dessert -- not always large enough to share, but it never disappoints.

This place seems to have potential but didn't meet expectations on the night I went. I ordered a lamb burger, but they were out of buns so they served it with sourdough instead. The bread they brought out was tough and dry and difficult to eat. It ruined the meal. The lamb itself seemed okay but it was hard to appreciate it in isolation from the bread. The salad and fries it was served with were tasty yet didn't leave a lasting impressive. The service and ambiance was fine. I like the space's soft lighting and nautical vibe.

Nice intimate and quiet restaurant in Soma. Great place to go if you want to talk during a date or have a bit of romance. The restaurant was pretty good. Had the spaghetti squash, braised beef cheeks, Black Cardamom Braised Short rib, Pistachio Meatballs and fries. I would recommend the beef cheeks and the fries. The meatballs were a bit overrated, it was just ok. The cocktails were pretty good however. Overall the restaurant was good, but not as good as Kokkario. The price is a bit higher than I expected.

The Fly Trap is a hidden gem in SOMA. It’s small, quiet, with nice décor, good service and flavorful food. We came knowing we want lamb (since Mediterranean lamb dishes are usually wonderful)…we ordered: 1. Pistachio Meatballs: one of their signature appetizers. Couldn’t really taste the pistachio in the meatballs, but loved the sweet/tart flavor pairing with the pomegranate sauce 2. Grilled Lamb Sirloin: a simple grilled lamb dish, meat was nice and tender 3. Braised Lamb “Abgoosht”: highly recommended by the waiter (think it was his favorite dish!) It’s a lamb stew with chickpeas & potatoes; came with flat bread on the side….eat DIY burrito style. The meat was very tender and filled with flavors 4. Goat Cheesecake: it was soft and fluffy with a very strong goat milk flavor. Wasn’t overly rich or sweet 5. Cucumber Yogurt Pudding: a very unique dessert dish! If you like yogurt, like cucumber, you’ll enjoy this combination. It’s clean, refreshing, and not overly sweet. And supposedly, yogurt helps with digestion after a heart meal (such as 2 lamb entrées!) Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive (our water was constantly being filled, plates were cleared timely), and since the restaurant wasn’t crowded on a Monday, we were able linger after paying the check. It was overall a nice dining experience!
