There was nothing she could do. She had to defend herself. Lol

In times of change learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.

People around the world have Tweeted more than a million times the phrase #BringBackOurGirls, the hashtag for the campaign to rescue the nearly 300 Nigerian high school girls who remain missing after being kidnapped by extremists last month.

I work in association education and love technology! I speak my mind. I am pro-choice. I don't have to go to church to talk to God. I strongly and lovingly support my friends of _all_ backgrounds. Oh, and I love football!
Introduction
After many years of moving around (South Dakota, Turkey, Missouri, Germany, Texas, Southern and Northern California) I have landed in Northern Virginia and find myself "home". Go figure. Who'd'a thunk it?

Mike and I have been together for more than 8 years, and most days we're happy about that. :)

The world keeps turning. :)

I have been going to Hairport since December 31, 2008. Ryan is my primary person, but I have also seen Gina and Elizabeth. Services I have received are haircut, color, and highlights (both funky and traditional); I have also had a pedicure in the spa. The good: 1) I have always walked out of there with a smile on my face; 2) they take the time to TALK to you about how you take care of, style and maintain your hair, products you use, and your vision of what you want; 3) they will help you work within your budget (I have $X and this is what I want.. .how can we accomplish that); 4) I have only been kept waiting ONCE in 4 visits, and the owner came to me (without my saying a word) and offered to comp me whatever products the stylist recommended for me. Customer service is important to me, and i'm very impressed with theirs. The not-so-good: 1) As someone else's review mentions, their hair color room is terribly boring and ugly and the chairs are frankly ugly, uncomfortable, and feel off-balance (I ask them to do my color at their station where I can be more comfortable, and they always accommodate this request. I LOVE their hair washing stations as they seem to fit me "just right" (I'm 5'10"). 2) The receptionists can be a bit abrupt/snotty on the phone or seem disinterested when you arrive; interestingly enough, they are quite friendly as you are paying and leaving. The bottom line, in an effort to save money, I went to a Hair Cuttery (my formerly "usual" place to go), had a language barrier (which is also "usual") and ended up with a cut that was nothing like I had asked for. Took the same picture in to Ryan at Hairport, and she'd fixed my "do" adjusted it to better fit my hair type and face shape, and I walked out happy. My happiness is worth an extra 20 or so dollars every couple of months. Isn't yours?

Lisa does my nails here. i have had gel, acrylic, regular mani and every pedi they have available. Lisa takes her time, does a great massage, and I never leave dissatisfied. Friendly staff, clean facility, comfy chairs, great pricing! i continue to go back time and time again.
