Here is our pre El Tour de Tucson ride checklist.
It works for any race or big ride day.

The hard training miles are done, your mentally ready and the bike is tuned. There are always a few last minute things you need to check before ride day. Here is our suggested checklist.

1. Make sure your tires are free of cuts and heavy wear. New tires for big events are always a good thing.
2. Check to make sure your spare tube, Co2, patch kit and everything else in your emergency kit are good.
3. Have you looked at the cleats on your shoes? Look for worn out parts, broken pieces and check that the bolts are tight.
4. Do you have your nutrition mapped out? Don't try anything new on ride day as it might upset your stomach.
5. Be prepared for the weather. It is usually warm and dry, but the early starts are cold and it could rain.
Have warmers and or a vest available
If rain is in the forecast get plastic bags or shower caps ready. Vaseline on exposed skin and warm gloves help.
6. If someone is meeting you at the finish, have them bring warm dry clothes. The sooner you are out of your kit the better.
7. Have some cash on hand for the finish where you can get some food and drinks.
8. Remember it is going to be fun so don't be too serious.
9. Don't start too fast. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement and burn out too fast.
10. Be courteous of other riders. Say passing when you can, don't hold other riders up, keep your line straight and be aware of those around you.
11. Bonus points if you say thank you to the law enforcement who help with traffic control. Show we appreciate them.

Just shy of 4 years in business we might have just had our best week yet. For the third year in a row we were named one of the top 100 bike shops in America by the NBDA, National Bicycle Dealers Association. On top of that honor we were voted the Best Bike shop for 2017 in Tucson in the Tucson Newspapers' Readers Choice awards.
Our goal has always been to provide the best service to riders of all ages and abilities. To be more than a place people buy things, a complete resource for all things cycling.
To all of our friends, customers and family, many who are all of the above, we say thank you, and as always... Pedal On!
