An almost complete teardown and internal examination of the Lenovo Thinkpad 11e Chromebook. I focus on the elements that make this an extremely durable device, which may be helpful for those who are considering whether this Chromebook is worth the price premium. I have added my observations to each individual picture, so click through to view them.

UPDATE: The reason this model is so heavy compared to similar sized devices (it weighs just about the same as the previous x131e, even though it is significantly thinner) is due to the liberal use of metal for support and reinforcement at key points such as the hinge, keyboard, and trackpad. Every part of the hinge in particular appears to be strong metal, all the way to where the hinge attaches to the plastic base and LCD cover.  For those of you who already know about the build of the x131e, I have to say that this model takes durability to the next level.
