We stayed at this hotel because of the location, and view (which was SPECTACULAR!). Thankfully we got a good deal on it! While the renovated rooms were great, they forgot to upgrade the mattress! It was was worn out, and had that valley in the middle....you know that sign when it's time to replace the mattress? Yup! That is what we slept on. The sheets wouldn't even stay on during the night! The AC was at 67 degrees and it literally felt like it was 80 degrees. When I stay at a "nice" "upscale" hotel, I expect to sleep on a bed of clouds and not wake up until I'm fully refreshed! NOT because I'm hot or I'm halfway sleeping on a mattress. #EEWWW I "might" come back if they upgrade the mattress. Otherwise, the running trail, Starbucks on property, small pool, and the $20/day parking can wait until the next time!

I loved my stay at The Hyatt Regency - I hired them to run my wedding reception and it was amazing! Brandi Bailey was the best coordinator any bride could EVER ask for! And our honeymoon room after the wedding was filled with rose petals, congratulatory card, and champagne. Our guests also enjoyed the hotel from the pool, to the restaurant, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Thank you Hyatt for being so amazing!

I stay here every year for the Big Android BBQ and always have a great experience. The rooms are well priced and accommodations are what i would expect. The staff is always very helpful.

Never again Hyatt!!! Terrible experience - The elevator smelled like someone had just pee'd in it. The room itself was stuffy. After we settled in and put our drinks in the fridge, we noticed that it wasn't working. After fiddling with it a bit, we called the front desk. They said the would send someone to the room. No apology, no indication of when we could expect someone. 40 minutes later, no one had shown up, so we called again. Again, no apology. In fact the tone was like ---"will you quit bothering me.... alright, alright, we'll send someone soon. Have some patience!!" A few minutes later someone brings a new refrigerator, but plonks it in front of the broken one. Still no apology - on the contrary he scowls when we ask him to move it out the way so we can take out stuff out of the broken one. They left the broken refrigerator in the room for the rest of our stay, with the new one in the way, obstructing the entrance to the bathroom. Then there was the parking. The key they gave us did not work when we wanted to exit - had to wait, call the attendant and get them to open the boom. I could go on and on.

Were there over the weekend of July 4th. Great time there. Staff was wonderful, especially the Valet guys (running their butts off to get cars). I would definitely recommend staying here instead of any other hotel in Austin. Location, location, location.

I would highly recommend avoiding this Hyatt location at all costs!!!! Overall terrible experience. The hotel uses a credit card key entry system. My key worked less than 50% of the time which caused me to either take the elevator back down to get a new key or call & wait for an employee to come with an new key to let me in, I would then leave my room only to return a short time later when the key would not work again & I would have to go through the entire procedure again. On one occasion I went to the gym & went through the wonderful experience- after finally gaining access to my room- NO HOT WATER!!!! Then to top it all off they charged me $100 more than the rate my company had obtained. When I complained the person who set up the rates would not come out to discuss the issue or explain why the e-mail she wrote to my company with the rate on it in black & white would not be honored.

Husband, baby, & I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in a double bed room. The rooms are REALLY small. The bathroom door opens up directly to the toilet. No more than 1 person fit in the bathroom... reminds me of an airplane bathroom. Carpets are dingy, smell old, and have stains. The shower had mold on the tile in the corners. The actual hotel is pretty, the lobby is nice, and the chandeliers are pretty. It bothers me when hotels invest in their lobby and the rooms are borderline disgusting. The restaurant in the hotel is like your standard Luby's cafeteria taste food. I'd pass. An overall unpleasant stay. For $499 a night, we expected a little more. Parking is $19 a day, but the keyless system worked less than 1/2 the time. The Radisson is around the corner, cheaper, and nicer than this place. Unless this is your last choice, keep looking.
