riskcontrolsa: Way back there was a time when Fire Fighters had a sense of HEALTHY discipline.. Now they see it as a sign of being oppressed.
There was a time when you visit a Fire Station and was awestruck by absolute cleanliness. Now paint is peeling window s are broken weeds are all over.
Fire fighters were at one time very very proud of their jobs. They painted Fire Hydrant signs (red bands with red diamonds around street light poles) thousands of these. They cleaned hydrants and checked water flows. Now you will be lucky to find these all important water supplies working.
Fire Officers knew about FIREMAN'S LIFT. Now recently I listened to an interview on Radio 702 when a senior JHB Fire Official said that the public do not have to fear because their ladders would reach any high-rise building window.
I am very very ashamed to see things slide down like this.
Mr Mayor....please contact me direct because we can help you fix this difficult issue. Failure to adress this problem will and has already resulted in poor delivery of essential services.
I used to be a senior fire commander in JHB I know how to help I talk Isuzu and I know how to work with African people in a manner of respect and UBUNTU. My pocket number 0723509098 email: firstname.lastname@example.org
