SHARE NZ 10-Year AGM reveals celebrations for substantial growth and transformation
Over $ 25 million of assets generating 34% share price growth

SHARE recently held its 10th Annual General Meeting in Wellington. A majority of the 45 shareholders attended the meeting, as well as the afternoon educational sessions involving Angus Dale-Jones (Chairman of the Code Working Group), Bruce Cortesi (Risk Director on the Establishment Board of Financial Advice New Zealand) and Chris Unwin (Business Development Trainer from Australia)

Chairman Richard Thomas commented that SHARE had come a long way since 2008, and was growing into a substantial organisation. Highlights of the Annual Report to shareholders included that the nation-wide network of 77 advisers now own assets to the value of $25,000,000 and have benefited from a compounded annual share price growth rate of 34% per annum over the last 5 years. “This financial performance puts us in a great position to capitalise on the changes to the Financial Advisers Act that will occur in the next 18 months” said Thomas. “Research completed by SHARE has suggested that the market will consolidate into a smaller number of Financial Advice Providers under the FMC Act, and we continue to be well positioned to play a significant part in the provision of quality advice to our current and future clients. SHARE is consistently fielding enquiries about our business model, and it is attracting the interest of advisers looking for well-designed, compliant and supported systems and succession opportunities”.

Thomas also welcomed shareholder Mark Armstrong as a new Board member, and confirmed to the shareholders that current CEO, Scott Black, will be retiring early next year. “Under Scott’s stewardship SHARE has grown significantly, and finding a replacement with his breadth of experience, understanding of the industry and wide networks will be difficult” said Thomas. “The search for a new CEO will commence soon, with the new appointment expected to be made early in the new year in time for the 10th Anniversary conference in Queenstown in April.”

SHARE team Tess Nicholson and Dave Mather (Adviser) were very happy to find they had qualified for Sovereign’s Ascend Gala event/awards evening. Tess and Dave were flown to Auckland and were thrilled to have received a gold award, along with 69 other Advisers. They then went on to celebrate the evening (and also coincidentally Tess' birthday) by attending the fabulous gala evening held at Auckland Museum. Congratulations and Happy birthday Tess!
