Honestly this school has a lot of pros and cons. Some people here (including teachers) can be rude, but like most people have said academic-wise it's pretty good. I really think the main problem is the people's personalities;some teachers, in my opinion, are gender-biased and sometimes rude. More so, many teachers are quick to think and just assume things. I think for some reason this problem only occurs with Quran/Arabic teachers. Overall some teachers are great. The friends you have are great, but then there are some other 'meh' kids. Also, a main problem is the school is too overpriced . Lastly, there aren't any really amazing trips; you get about 5-7 trips and only 3 are worth it, but scientists in school and other activities cover that up. I really hate the 2 teeny weeny itty bitty recesses. Islamic-wise the environment is great. There is really no point in putting your kids in kindergarten here you should aim to get your kids here by gr.4 to get the best value out of your money. So that's my review from a 3 yr experience. -Ibrahim Atiq GR.8

Academic wise... its absolutely great and as well as the teachers, even though some are nice and some are strict like in every school. However, some students I dealt with are pretty messed up and rude cuz the schools management are arabs and some arabs are good to deal with and others are terrifying. Mostly all of the Arabic/Quran teachers are really rude, but you can resist that, otherwise the school is amazing and many different cultures, good friends and mostly nice people. The best thing about the school are the wide range of activities and fun trips and also the inter-islamic school sports tournaments. Therefore, the school is very good with a big waiting list for every grade, and forgot to mention the main thing which is the islamic studies which is really good, they teach you in good way with alot to learn. Overall...Pretty good from a person whos been going there for 5 years with this one my last, Inshallah -Faizan Hussain Grade 8

OGS is an amazing school! I've been here since the very beginning (basically) and will be really sad when I have to leave. The teachers are really nice, friendly and understanding, and the education is top-notch. The students are also really nice, and the environment here is super welcoming. Recesses are a tad short, but I think many people are overreacting as the two short recesses sort of compensate for each other. I love OGS, and I don't know where my life would be without it!

I've been at OGS since I was in grade 1 and it has become my 2nd home. Finishing grade 8 with all of my friends and the really nice teachers is a great way to end middle school. Tons of my friends have come from OGS and they are like my brothers and sisters. We have sooooooooooooo many inside jokes it is hilarious, like avocado, guacamole, and me #The Gucci One. Come here and OGS will put your old school to the biggest shame ever!!!!!

I was surprised to see the behavior of teachers here. One teacher just came up to me and harassed me. Apparently her car was parked next to mine and she comes breathing heavily and asks me rudely if I opened the back door of my car. I was shocked at what she was talking about but I said "no". and then she goes again " did you open the back door of your car", I was like no why? then she goes my car is hit and the colour is white where its dented or hit. somebody please tell this lady that if ares car hit her car the colour wouldn't just transfer onto her car but her paint would come OFF! I then said, why would i open my back door when I don't have any child with me, she goes " I don't know" and then she went crazy ringing the school bell then she called someone at the school and asked them to open the door and then went to her and started whispering. now I don't feel safe sending my daughter to the school if anyone would snap at any time at anyone without thinking. very disappointed...ive volunteered at different Islamic schools but never ever have I encountered such behavior. when I complained to a staff member, she came running back..rather than saying I apologize if it offended you in any way she went on bout how she just asked me. well someone tell this teacher that she just has no right to randomly go unto people and interrogate them! I wonder if the teachers are even certified here?
