I've started a project at home growing strawberries. Any tips from people who've grown them in Texas before?

+Bank of America  #fail  !!!  Their rep at my branch bank talked me into a new additional card so that I could balance transfer and take advantage of an introductory 0% rate. Now they tell me that it is impossible. Guess what? I can easily transfer it out to some other bank. They had nothing to offer to fix the situation. Guess I will switch banks now!

I did, years ago.  They also had to pay me a few hundred for illegally taking fees out of my account.  I am glad I switched to another bank.  Good luck dealing with them Tobin.  I can't stand them.

Here is an Easter Bunny giving Simon's Cat the runaround!

Have you got any fun plans with your pets this weekend? We'd love to hear about it in the comments!

Central Texas Strawberries - Day 1 part 2
The second strawberry root order arrived today. This order was for 10 Seascape Everbearing (Day Neutral) Strawberry Plants . When I opened this order, I found exactly 10 plants. They shipped in a little bit of dirt. These plants already had some new growth ...

Brilliant. Please send this back in time to me when I was little and splitting wood for our fireplace.

This is simply brilliant. While many of us enjoy chopping wood and may find it a cathartic experience, why not make it as efficient use of energy as possible?

The axe isn't typically something we think of as modern or revolutionary, but some guys at Vipukirves have discovered a huge flaw with the tool: it's really hard to use.

I think this is so great. I just wish it was not so expensive.

Considering this is a 12lb bag of popcorn, I don't recommend following the cooking instructions lol. Which brings me to my next dilema. Apparently I ordered a 12lb bag of popcorn. It's non-GMO if any of my Austin friends want some.

Hey Tob, did you hear about that kid that got shot by a cop because he was playing with a Nintendo game controller in his house?  I am not kidding apparently someone called the cops about him, they went over and pow.  That got me thinking about how lucky I was I didn't get shot back when we used to play lasertag out in the woods.
BTW, yes I would totally do that just for kicks.  Also, update for us.  Mich and I have been working with a realtor to purchase a home in our neighborhood.  OMG! The housing market in Austin is nuts, just absolutely nuts.  If you do not make an offer immediately you get knocked out quick by the sheer number of bids they have over the damn asking price.  The far west area of Austin is extremely desirable, so it sucks for house hunting.  Honestly, if I had my choice I would live on South Padre.  The houses there are cheaper and the synagogue is nicer.  The problem is the employment there sucks.  Sigh!

They have been great with my taxes although I wish there were some magical way I could just let them deal with everything and not have to pour over all the info each year

We bought a Hague water softener from A Plus about 5 years ago. They were prompt, courteous and professional. The unit itself has been awesome and I highly recommend it Refilling the salt tank is easy and other than that there is no real maintenance.
