Now that the #GalaxyNote4
has been revealed, I wonder what you all think of it?
I am happy that they finally have released it with optical image stabilization. FINALLY. Back camera is 16mp. The Quad HD display will be like on the Galaxy S5, G906S that I reviewed earlier and the SoC is S805 2.7GHz Quad core cpu with Adreno 420 600MHz GPU.
The performance quality should be similar to the Galaxy S5 G906S as well (G906S has S805 SoC as well with Quad HD display). What I mean here is that the Quad HD display of the Note 4 shouldn't kill the battery or slow down the device. For the S5 G906S, I found the performance to be very similar to the original Galaxy S5 so that was a nice surprise. This is to say that I believe Samsung's hardware is equipped to deal with this new high resolution display. The G906S didn't get bogged down with Quad HD and the battery did not take a hit. The new Note 4 shouldn't take a hit either.

Also, if you are going for a Quad HD phone on the market right now, I would go certainly with Amoled. While playing with the #LGG3
and the #OppoFind7
I can see that LCD is a league behind in comparison to Amoled's bright Quad HD display. LCD Quad HD is noticeably dimmer. I am also not convinced yet with LCD Quad HD and battery life. I am sure we will see improvements with QHD and LCD but Amoled takes the cake for now.
I am happy to see Samsung has some quick charing method, though proprietary, charges the device to 50% in a half hour.
I think the new smart S Pen features are pretty cool but I wonder if they are something many would use everyday. S Pen might still very well become forgotten about. I will have to see how well it enhances my productivity in reality.
Oh, and as for the new 2.5D glass, I am nervous. If it falls on the ground, since the glass is raised/not flat, that will be the first thing to hit. I learned that lesson with the Note 2.
And I am not seeing water resistancy here! I was hoping for that one.
So what do you all think?? Are you running out to buy this?
As for the Note 4 Edge... Eh... Cool but not necessary. I might eventually get annoyed by constant notifications in my view and want to turn them off. If they can simply be disabled and re-enabled at will, that might be an interesting choice to wait for. It will be out later than the Note 4 and will be more expensive.
Note 4 will be available to purchase in October.
