I’ve had such a great time on Google+, and while I’ve been pulling back on my use for months now, I’ll definitely miss it. MeWe wasn’t for me, so for now you can just find me on Facebook or Twitter (@ilive4crits).

Congrats to James Walls (Savage Judge James ) for taking the lead on Hottest Community Content today! His adventure, An Unexpected Wedding, ranks first right now, not just in #SWAG, but in all community content programs at DriveThruRPG!

An Unexpected Wedding

Here it is folks, the Savage Worlds Adventurer's Guild product I've been dropping hints about for nearly 2 months now. The first product I've written and published outside of a online periodical. Hats off to my design partner Charlotte Irrgang, for all of the adventure's layout and editing. The cover art is by the great Todd McGowan, and interior art by my gifted daughter, Carrie Walls.

This fun setting-neutral romp uses a format that's part traditional adventure, and part zany party game. I wrote it for improvisational GM's (like me!) in mind.

So please check it out, take a peek at the sample, and most importantly spread the word. And if you happen to run the adventure at your table make sure to let me know!

Me, Cooper, and Jennifer spent some time this afternoon exploring the Weird West and playtesting some new mapping rules that I'm working on for an upcoming Savage Worlds Adventurer's Guild product.

Our Banished to the Purple Planet campaign changed course last night, when the player characters got their own warband and set out for glory and greenstone shards!

PS: +Harley Stroh, Warlords of the Purple Planet worked GREAT in campaign mode!

I'm not particularly good at running horror adventures, but last night's session turned out particularly well. Rather than writing a blog recap (what I used to do a lot of), I thought I'd share the adventure itself (sort of like in a One-Sheet form) along with what I tried to do differently with a genre I typically have a challenge running.

The adventure takes place in 1940's England just before the commencement of Operation Sea Lion (Nazi invasion following an alternate history English defeat at Dunkirk). We also tried the new Chase Rules during the last sequence, and overall we enjoyed them.

Any feed back on how you yourself run horror adventures would be much appreciated. I tend to run a lot of mash-ups and over-the top, over-powered adventures. How do you tackle things like building tension and keeping the players in suspense during play?

Do the math: do you have enough time in your life to play all the games that are already on your shelves? How about the ones that you have coming? I've got three Kallax's worth of swag right now, with half taking up a lot of space. Here's my take (and second blog post in 2 days!)

Back in my prime we'd game from 6pm until 6am and then watch the sun rise while drinking scalding hot coffee and eating cold pizza! Now as I near 40, I'm a solid, early bird special gamer who loves a great afternoon time slot.
