10 Reasons Your Face Is Red
(http://ow.ly/LFpC30mW6Xq)

Your face could turn red for a variety of reasons, including sunburn, overexertion, and acne. But if you're suffering from chronic rashes or skin redness, it could be another condition. For example, people who have rosacea will often notice that they blush or flush easily. This redness can last for a long time and you might notice that it tends not to go away. Though there is no cure for rosacea, a dermatologist can help you with a diagnosis and a treatment plan to minimize symptoms.

Why Are Annual Skin Exams Important?

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, one in five people will be diagnosed with skin cancer before the age of 70. The signs of skin cancer may be subtle, or you may not even notice them at all. This means that annual skin exams are extremely important. Skin cancer is the most common preventable type of cancer, and this is due to people not taking proper precautions or getting properly screened for skin cancer. The Skin Cancer Foundation also points out that 99% of patients survive when melanoma is detected early. So make your annual skin exam part of your yearly routine, and give yourself the gift of good health. (http://ow.ly/plgQ30mW6Xo)

Your Winter Face
(http://ow.ly/FiAx30mW6Xm)

Even though you cover up more of your skin in the winter, your head and neck are still always exposed to the sun's UV rays. During the winter, wear a facial moisturizer that has a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher every day. Increase the SPF to 30 when you'll be spending time outside, such as during winter sports. Apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before outdoor activity and reapply every two hours, or after sweating heavily.

Guide to Preventing Wrinkles
(http://ow.ly/EjI830mW6Xi)

Though wrinkles are a natural part of aging, there are ways to help you skin stay supple and young. One of the cardinal rules of anti-aging is making sure you drink enough water. We often think of eight glasses of water per day as a one-size-fits-all rule. However, hydration needs can vary by a number of factors, including age, weight, activity level, and diet. Always drink a glass of water before, during, and after exercise. You might consider keeping a glass of water on your nightstand before you go to bed, and making it a habit to drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up in the morning.

7 Tips to Soothe Dry Skin
(http://ow.ly/Pg9330mW6Xh)

During the winter, dry skin can be more prevalent than ever. The lack of humidity in the air combined with household skin irritants such as cleaning products, air fresheners, and laundry detergents, can make skin dry, itched, or even cracked. Try using rubber gloves whenever you clean at home. You can even layer a rubber glove over a layer of softer cotton gloves before touching a cleaning product, bucket, or sponge.

Why You Should Start Laser Hair Removal in the Winter
(http://ow.ly/un7A30mW6Xe)

Hair grows in three cycles, and laser hair removal is only effective during the active stage of growth. Because of this, you'll need multiple, evenly spaced out laser hair removal sessions to see the results you want. This could take up to 6-8 sessions to fully remove all unwanted hair. If you start your laser hair removal treatment during the colder months, when beach weather is back you'll be ready and confident! Schedule your laser hair removal session with Dr. Flood today. What Are the Different Types of Eczema?

All types of eczema exhibit symptoms like itchiness, redness, and dry, scaly skin. However, there are seven different types of eczema that can affect men, women, and children. Some over-the-counter creams and treatments can help eczema symptoms, however, if the itchiness or redness you're experiencing doesn't go away on its own or interferes with your life, talk to your dermatologist. Dermatologists can prescribe stronger creams, antihistamines, or even perform light therapy treatments.

When you're dealing with eczema or any skin condition, it can be helpful to write down your triggers from what you eat, drink, wear, or what skin products you're using. For some people, skin conditions like eczema will flare up more when they are under stress. If you're able to track some of your triggers, this can help your dermatologist decide on the best course of treatment for you.
