WARNING, with reference rare 232 British Bakelite telephones like the one in the photograph below there has been a recent trend in a very worrying practice performed by some telephone restorers in the UK.

1953 Rare Ivory 200 series vintage telephone from the UK. Ivory was rare in the 1950's as 99.9% of all these telephones were Black Bakelite. The colours were Black (Common) Ivory (Rare) Red (Very rare) and Green (Very very rare) :-)

Very rare red British 312 Telephone from 1954, when 99.9% of the telephones in the UK were Black Bakelite.

1960's BT telephone, model number 706. The first of the New Plastic telephones introduced in the UK in 1959. Before the 706 telephones all the desk telephones were Bakelite (99% Black). These Plastic telephones could easily be produced in various colours, such as red, ivory, concord blue, green, grey etc.
