Exhausted, burnt out, and dreaming of getting away from the cold, the slush and the violence of Boston’s criminal underbelly, special detective Harrison Edwards receives a phone call in the dead of night. A phone call that would change his world forever. A serial killer is loose. Someone bent on wiping out young, attractive women is tearing up the city with calculated madness, and it is up to Edwards to track down the killer and put an end to the evil deeds gripping the city. A body is found—staged in ritualistic manner—and then another, and another. Time is running out as Edwards is plunged into a world of the occult, sacrifice and madness. In order to trap the killer, he goes undercover at a convention, and what awaits him when he gets there is beyond any horror he has ever seen.

Looking for your next page-turner? Check out this review of "As Ever, Pudd" by Anita Ann Caruso.

"Many times, when given a choice between reading fiction or non-fiction, I end up choosing a book that tells a real-life story. I am not against a good old-fashioned made-up tale, but when presented with the two options, I generally pick the one that will enlighten by way of allowing me into the world of another person.

This book is listed as a romance memoir, but it is so much more than that. I would recommend it to anyone who is in or has been in a relationship with their soul mate because you will find this author's work resonating with your spirit. The author eloquently writes not only letters but she also includes her original poetry that is sprinkled throughout the book. Most will find this selection heartwarming.
While there are many humorous occasions, I found myself in tears, and I had to stop reading to clear my vision so I could read the next chapter. I would advise all those who pick up this book to keep the Kleenex box within hands' reach because of the emotional impact that the writing will have on you. I am giving this book a "4 out of 4 star" rating."

Theirs had been a love story, a story of friendship, courtship and marriage, beginning when she was seventeen and he was a dashing Navy officer. It was a fairytale that never ceased—even Alzheimer’s couldn’t come between them. Phyllis Brown relives this one-of-a-kind love she shared with her husband, Bert, in HELP ME! I’m Slipping.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, there are many signs of the disease. The author noticed some of these signs in her husband, but she completely ignored them at first. A highly successful businessman, a gentle yet hardworking person who never stopped until he accomplished his goals, Bert was adept at hiding his memory loss. But as soon as it was confirmed that he had Alzheimer’s disease, his wife went into action. Phyllis may not have been well-equipped with medical information and guidelines, but she was determined to give all her love and support to make the last years of Bert’s life as happy as they could possibly be.

HELP ME! I’m Slipping follows the author’s difficult yet rewarding experience as she helps her husband through the uncharted waters of Alzheimer’s. From her journey, she shares lessons that she learned with her readers. In each day, she found something they could enjoy together: moments of love, and even fun and laughter. From strategies for helping her husband maintain his dignity to tips on activities that can be enjoyed daily, this book provides a truly inspiring testament to a love that endures.

Six weeks in the autumn of 2008 dramatically changed the direction and structure of American banking by taking size and consolidation to a new level that few fully yet understand. Like in all financial crises an inevitable result is the big banks get bigger and the number of banks fewer. In this case, four commercial banks – JPMorgan, Bank of America, Citigroup and Wells Fargo – were left with 50 percent of all commercial bank assets with smallest of the four having more assets than the next five combined. This, though, was only part of the story as these banks also used the crisis to cross industry lines and become leading investment banks as well as commercial banks and left almost all privately-owned foreign banks far behind. The events of 2008 were the culmination of a 35 year evolution of American banking from a localized industry in the early 1970s to the large bank dominance of today, primarily as the result of three economic crises – the hard times of the 1970s that lasted through 1982, the real estate-driven recession of the late 1980s and early 1990s and the most recent financial debacle. During this period, not only did four banks rise to their position of dominance, the number of commercial and savings banks fell from 20,000 to less than 7,000 – with no end in sight. This book tells the story of this spectacular change in America’s biggest business in such a short period of time from an insider’s perspective and puts what happened in the last six years in the perspective of a long-term trend that shows no signs of abating. It is inevitable that the big will continue to get bigger and the number of banks fewer with driving force going forward likely to be technology rather than economic crises. This may dismay some, but this has been a natural evolution of an industry that was artificially kept by geographic constraints from doing what every other industry has done and to the benefit of America and its status in the world. Unlike autos, steel and so many other businesses, banking is an international business that seems likely to be dominated by American banks into the foreseeable future.

Six-year-old Brayden climbs up to his treehouse and with the help of his magic green glasses goes on a royal adventure to an enchanted forest. There he meets the warrior princess, Shirley Bel, who needs his help to find the King’s daughter, Sophie. With the same charm and imagination of the first two Brayden journey books, author Anita A. Caruso takes readers on a quest into a magical kingdom where they encounter a friendly dragon, leprechauns, fairies, elves, and a unicorn.

The Future of Physical Therapy . . . Today, physical therapists have an identity crisis. While consumers understand what a dentist, plumber, electrician, or massage therapist does, they cannot easily describe a physical therapist. We need to brand ourselves like Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Apple. The physical therapy experience must be transformed with a branded platform to create standardization and consistency in the outpatient arena. This book, which outlines The Best Therapy Experience®, provides physical therapists with proven concepts and methods to disrupt the industry and build lifelong relationships with clients by focusing on what clients really value.
