+Joanne Kaminski Thank you so much for improving my son's overall reading. He scored a 3 on the ELA test, and that is a reflection of wonderful teacher you are. Special thank for getting Chase to read about a hockey player and keeping his interest. His improvement was so quick and such a surprise. I had tears in my eyes and though of you right after I saw the 3! (By the way New York State Grade 4 ELA scores 1-4. 3 or higher is expected for on or above level)

Love this!

If you look at the stats for every major social network (besides LinkedIN) there are actually more women users than men. Maybe women aren't signing up for Google+ because they thought it was a site for plus size women? Maybe the nerd quotient was too strong? But we all know that girls secretly love nerds. Are these jokes misogynistic? Here's an interesting take on the issue of women on G+: http://bit.ly/rtveIT

A lot of humor tends to "put someone down" (and I'm not a fan of that). +M. M. Faulkner argues that these jokes would make women think they're not welcome on Google+. In particular she talks about Farmville jokes: people are joking that women will only come if there are casual games to play here on G+ and this paints women in a "silly" light. I don't consider gaming silly. "Play" is one of the most important parts of life. And more power to anyone who knows that playful spirit is important.

I appreciate her article. It made me think. But whatever the case, I don't think this male/female ratio will stay the same very long, and I doubt the statistics are even accurate. Google+ does not belong to men. As the .GIF illustrates, try to take something from a lady that's not yours, and you will pay the price!

"I love baseball, I really do," he once said. "I always told my Dad, I'm not gonna make it working... I like to play ball too much. Which I did. We played hard. You gotta work at this game. You really do. And its fun doing it if you do it the right way." ~Yogi Berra RIP

Mental toughness and coachability in sports. Sean Skinner may have the most experience with adults and youth hockey in the world. Google Ovechkin and Skinner.

I came home yesterday with a car, and my wife was like "why in the world did you get a car that you don't need?". I replied "I'm a sucker for nice, professional, sales people who really care about me". I know it sounds weird but when I buy a car (E-Golf 80 mile range), my only prerequisite is a solid sales team. Was just planning to test drive but Marcus is a cool dude who actually test drove the car himself and did research on the e-Golf before I got there to educate himself. The General Manager is more like an old friend. Actually, I wish I had more old friends like the GM. He is smart, friendly, honest and experienced. I got a great deal on a great car and more importantly I met a great sales team!

Dude, my wife loves this store! I went for Christmas one year and they messed up my order on lobsters. They gave me FREE Filot! I was so psyched! I came home and the family was amazed. I really like the customer service there. OLD SCHOOL!

Hoops, Tennis, Soccer, Baseball, Jump Arounds, Occasions, is that what you are looking for? Well this place has it all, along with professional Elite trainers to help you or your children in all sports. I knew the owner well in high school and we still keep in touch a bit on Facebook but it's not like we are twin brothers or anything. My son needed help with throwing and catching and I know a great local baseball instructor Gregory Chertok to help him but we didn't have a place to go and there was snow on the ground so outside wasn't an option. I IM'ed Jim, the owner, within two minutes I had a response to my question. Sure you can use my facility, no problem. This is what local business should be, not a "hey my burger is cold?", "SORRY BUB, WE GOT A LONG LINE OF PEOPLE WAITING BEHIND YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" type of service. It's old school, yesteryear, customer service; small town customer service in a state of the art facility. I really appreciate what the owner did for me. Last time I was there, for another great day camp sports clinic for my son, Jim invited me to work out with him in the training area. A big thank you to Jim and West Rock. Thanks for making me feel like I'm family. Much obliged.

They offer, I believe it is called Lego University, it is a lego build on Wednesday's and thursday from 5-7. Brett was the worker there and he was funny and nice. I believe he was dancing at one point too. As my 7-year-old son just said, "write it was a very good night, we had lots of fun". There is something special about the builds they have- they let you start a build and keep it going. If you were looking for something to do I strongly suggest you give it a try. It works for the beginning builder as well as the expert builder, and there really is no age limit. I would say anyone over 4 years old would enjoy. Both owners are cool and love kids.

Just had to share my experience with Mercedez of Nanuet, it is under new ownership as of 2011. I had a ML350 2006 and I was always happy with the experience. So I came back to get a new ML350 2011 (slightly boring of me but I like the room and the way it drives; at least I changed the color from silver to black). So when I purchased the car it was considered used because it had 800 miles on it. My salesman told me that I had a maintenance agreement, however at 10,000 miles when I went in for service I was told that my service agreement began and ended the same day I purchased the vehicle. So, as you can imagine I was upset - I got an email in September from Mercedes asking me why I haven't used my pre-paid Maintenance? I showed it to the OWNER-he REIMBURSED ME FOR THE PRIOR PAID SERVICE! HE GAVE ME 2 FREE SERVICES AND CAME TO MY HOUSE WITH GIFTS!!!! Do you want to experience old school customer service above and beyond your expectations and drive a high-end car with breaking edge technology and safety? Do yourself a favor and get over to Mercedes Benz of Nanuet! The people there are great, the service is top-notch and the owner is too good to be true!
