Bit of a drive from Oregon coast, but think of the scouting I could do!

A friend and I used to laugh about how artists painted rustic, old-timey scenes on bone. She attempted the opposite.

For a guy who travels back and forth between Reno, Montana, and New Zealand throughout the year, hunter and guide Remi Warren has pretty much mastered the art of how to pass the time.

Find out what books he's reading (and listening to) and what TV shows are at the top of his Netflix queue in our new Media Diet column! >> http://bit.ly/1kHn6IU

Maybe Steve used some of that nasty ass Norwegian canned fish for bait.

Never seen this before: swimming antelope. Encountered this herd while trotlining catfish in the lower Yellowstone.

Steve recounts his adventure with poison oak and giardia back in 2012 on Northwest Wild Country and boy, it does NOT sound like fun! Take a look:

Introduction

In “MeatEater,” author, hunter and outdoorsman Steven Rinella takes a walk on the wild side - where cliffs, claws and the culinary arts all come crashing together in one nail-biting adventure. In each episode, Rinella deconstructs and masters any hunting technique; tracks and pursues prey; and procures his own food… all culminating in a mouth-watering meal.

Far from trophy or sport hunting, Rinella stays true to our ancestral tradition of sustenance hunting – nothing he harvests goes to waste. Whether tracking blacktail deer in the rainforests of Alaska or rooting out javelina in the deserts of West Texas, Rinella defers to his backcountry roots, challenging himself at every corner while providing an amazing adventure along the way.
