Caljanex
625 San Pablo Avenue, Albany, CA 94706
I'm the Purchasing Manager at $50M manufacturing company in Livermore. Part of my responsibilities include MRO purchases - covering janitorial services.

Caljanex had an existing contract with our company.

1. He is difficult, if not impossible to contact. This is via email, business phone, and cellular phone. Best response was 4 days after my last message (not counting weekend).

(He immediately responded, however, when I said I was stop payment on his account.)

2. The cleaning services are sub par. He contracts his services out - he does not have employees that he manages on his own.

Details:
However, upon reviewing the contract and trying to understand why many of the services were not rendered - James Masi, the owner attempted to bully me by saying "That's the way it's always been done."

He then got angry with me when I said that I would not pay him for services not rendered, per the contract. I have no reason to pay for services not rendered - that's like paying for a car wash, only to have your car come out still dirty.

We could not reach an agreement, and I do not take well to repeated bullying. After 2 months of trying to reach an agreement, I was forced to cancel the contract, and short pay him for his lack of services and terrible customer service.

Mr. Urness and his team runs a top notch dealership. Recently, I had a Jeep dealership in the Portland area (to remain un-named) perform recall and TSBB work on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A day later, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) fault light illuminates on the dash on my drive up to the Dalles. I called up the Service Department, and a wonderful and cheerful service adviser, Ron, answers the phone. I asked to see if his team can scan the codes and see if there was anything urgent to address. He replied that it's the NW Cherry Festival in the Dalles that weekend, and it may be busy, but to come in and he will take a look. When I arrived, he put his tech on the Jeep right away, and quickly identified the root cause - the previous dealer did not clear the codes in the transmission after they performed the transmission reflash TSB. The technician cleared the codes, which also restored use of my cruise control quickly, and I was back on the road in no time. I know this is out of the ordinary, but the Urness Jeep team came through in a pinch, and delivered. They get an A+ in my book. Also, for all your off roaders and overlanders, Urness Motors is also an AEV dealer!

The folks who work at Lents is definitely good people. They are professional, experts at what they do, and do it with pride. My vehicle: 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Turbo Limited - Atlantic Blue. Basically an adult WRX STi. A difficult color to match and blend due to the metallic flop in the paint - IE, when you look at it from different angles, the color will shift because of the metallic reflection. These guys nailed it. Vehicle was damaged by the transportation company from Denver to Portland - Front and Rear Bumper, left quarter panel, and scratches. They dealt with the transportation company (who after months of phone calls and emails to their vice president), agreed to pay for the damages - we finally brought the car in. I worked with Corey (estimator) and Sherman (technician). I can't stress the enough, but both of those guys really take pride in their work. There was some other damage to the vehicle - parking lot dings, and oxidized paint on the roof from moss - things I obviously did not claim. They worked with me to repair the other damaged areas - which was extremely reasonable in terms of cost. There were certain body panels that I wanted to save for later due to the high costs, which Corey said we can address at a later date. However, Sherman saw that we couldn't leave those panels as-is, and would not blend with will all the excellent work he had done on the rest of the vehicle, and took it upon himself to finish that panel as well. Now, the entire vehicle looks brand new - awesome for a 10 year old car. We are excited to have it back. My father had a repair and body shop in Los Angeles (he has retired over 10 years ago), and me being a car guy (the Subaru is obviously not stock), I can appreciate the detail they put into the repair.
