Here in LA, the air is actually clear, and the temperature is perfect. My cousin picked a great day to get married, apparently.

I think LA has strict rules about the weather, they don't allow anything else.

I'm pretty sure that every day is mothers' day, given the honor due those women who have fulfilled this role either physically or spiritually. Without motherhood, there would be no nurturing of babies, raising of children, or guiding of young and not-so-young adults; at least, not in the way that only women have been made to do. I am blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a mom, and I'm grateful today for all the women who are willing to care for and guide the most helpless and naive humans, as well as we older kids who should have it all figured out but clearly still need help :D

+Whiskey, Ink, & Lace sent us some "girlie" products, and they are everything I'd hope to see from them. They feel nice and smell great. Here's my breakdown by item:

Maven body oil- if you want your skin to feel smooth and also smell like a coffee shop, I would highly suggest this one. It absorbed quickly so it didn't make my skin feel greasy, and lasted a long time.

Rose cream- since moving to the Northeast, I have had some seriously dry skin on my face, which is a first for me. I'm testing this out to see if it will help that without making me break out too much. It has a very light floral scent, and I didn't have to use too much to get a good coverage.

Walnut brownie soap- as its name suggests, it looks and smells like a brownie while washing. It rinsed clean and didn't leave a super strong smell behind, which is a plus for me.

Overall, I am quite impressed. Everything +Andi Murphy has put together feels and smells natural without being overpowering.

Yay! Glad you liked it! That face cream should help with the dry skin. It's super moisturizing. :)

Every time I see Invader Zim, I'm amazed at just how much Johnen Vasquez must hate humanity.

Also, my kids may have been scarred for life by Giganto-baby and Bloaty's Pizza Hog.

Strawberry picking this morning. It seems like they should be less expensive if you provide the labor ;)

I love strawberry picking! As a fun day, not a job.

When I was a kid, we road tripped from Virginia to Georgia and stopped at random fields along the way and got permission to pick things. We picked and ginned cotton and gleaned peanuts. Cotton ginning is boring and I discovered why we're so grateful to Eli Whitney. In the peanut field, the laborers' families were also gleaning the peanuts, only they were doing it for extra money.

"So my choice is 'or death?' Well, I'll have the chicken."

This perfectly sums up my views on the presidential candidates.

The warmer weather and lack of proper freezes have encouraged the growth of poison ivy and other painful plants like uncontrollable wisteria to absolutely take over. I bought ground clear to nuke our woods to combat it.

"Horace Tott spent an uneventful life in Cheshire always intending to write a large book on English magic, but never beginning. And so he died at seventy-four, still imagining he might begin next week, or perhaps the week after that." — Susanna Clarke, in Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
