Yoon Ha didn't know that she was pregnant until she ran away from her abusive Chinese husband. However, she did not give up on her baby and endured a rough journey to reach freedom. She was 7-months pregnant when she finally made it to Southeast Asia through LiNK’s network. Now, she is safely resettled in South Korea and recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (pictured).

You can help more North Koreans like Yoon Ha reach safety and get the support they deserve. Donate to our work: http://www.libertyinnorthkorea.org/donate

Can you imagine being sent to prison for watching a TV show? That very thing almost happened to Hae Ri in North Korea. After her friends were caught and sent to prison for watching South Korean dramas, she fled in fear that the same thing would happen to her. Today she is successfully resettled in South Korea, where she is studying to be a nurse and took part in our English Teaching & Cultural Exchange Program.

Read our interview to learn more about her life in North Korea and what she's doing now: http://j.mp/HaeRi

Minji is one of the North Koreans who has benefited from our Resettlement Assistance Program. After nearly dying of starvation in North Korea, a kind stranger helped her cross the border and she was able to connect with our networks. Now she lives with a loving foster family in South Korea. In the first four months after resettling, she grew four inches.

Aspects of modern society that we take for granted—like using an ATM, shopping in a supermarket, and riding public transit—can be difficult for North Koreans to adjust to shortly after resettling.

We provide 1 to 1 resettlement counseling to help newly–arriving North Korean refugees overcome these challenges. Want to get involved? Sign up to fundraise for our Resettlement Assistance Program: http://j.mp/PeopleCan_Resettle
