It's been fab doing +Quiet London with my fellow admins but life catches you on the hop and you get pulled in new directions so +Quiet London and I, +Andrew Clifton-Brown, are parting company. I'll hopefully be able to do some walks n the future, time permitting, but to everyone that has walked or looked at the QL pics and posts, keep walking, shooting and watching x

Many people want to make money at home and they want to find a work at home job to do it with. Ultimately what happens is they become frustrated as they search from website to website looking for the right job. This brings up the question, why are work at home jobs so hard to find? In this article we will take an honest look at this problem.

1. First of all you should know that most of the opportunities to work at home are not actually paid jobs. This is true because most employers do not know you and have no control over the work environment when you do it from the comfort of your own home.

If you realistically think about this, why would someone pay you an hourly rate when they do not know if you are really working or not? Therefore many of the opportunities to work at home are actually in the form of business opportunities where you work for yourself.

2. There really are some companies looking for people to work from home. This phenomenon is known as telecommuting and does provide an opportunity for people with legitimate skills to get paid working from home.

This benefits both the company and the worker because the business does not need to provide a space for you to work from, and as an employee you do not have to get up and drive to work every day.

Many companies now will offer work at home jobs that include an hourly rate and benefits. These benefits can include paid vacation, retirement plan, and health insurance.

One such website or you can visit is Tjobs.com. They match employers looking for workers with employees who are looking for opportunities to telecommute. This works out very well for people who have skills such as sales, customer service, website design, and other categories.

3. Another thing I want to talk about is websites that present themselves as work at home jobs doing data entry, taking paid surveys, and typing at home. Generally these websites are trying to sell you information on how to get involved in this type of work.

There are companies who will pay you for your opinion, or to do data entry and typing. The websites that are selling you the information deserve to be paid because they have taken the time to develop a list of companies for you to contact.

In the future work at home jobs will become more readily available. Until that point you need to be conscious and only deal with reputable companies before spending any of your hard earned money.

So, this image represents a change in Quiet London. Three drinks.  One for each admin.  +Andrew Clifton-Brown is the pint of Becks , +Yoon-Mi Kim is the Red wine, and the half of Boddingtons is +James O'Gorman.

We are really pleased that James has joined us and is an ideal fit for +Quiet London.  He likes to laugh, walk and take photos and doesn’t take life too seriously on the whole. (Apart from mis-placed apostrophes - James)
We’re glad you joined us James!  The next round is on you......;)

Our next +Quiet London walk is going to take us from the Monument at London Bridge, through the City and onto the Temple tube station. (This will be slightly longer than our previous walks, so this could be a good place to jump off if needed!) We'll then wind our way through to Covent Garden where we'll be able to get some excellent chances at street photography.

We'd love it if you'd dawdle with us on our March walk through parts of inner London, laugh at bad jokes and catch up with old acquaintances and hopefully make some new ones.

We look forward to walking, talking and shooting with you!

For our next +Quiet London walk we're going to take a wander from Wapping up to St Catherines Dock, past Tower Bridge and end up at London Bridge.

We'd love it if you'd wander with us on our January walk through parts of London's East end, catch up with old acquaintances and hopefully make some new ones.

We look forward to walking, talking and shooting with you!

Hi everyone,

Jumping off from WBW https://plus.google.com/u/0/112884348684662289862/  we've decided to branch out and start doing photowalks whilst people are awake! Crazy idea, we know, but hopefully it will work out :)

Everyone is welcome, we love meeting new people, having a laugh and shooting just about anything.  We're an incredibly friendly bunch of all ages/aptitudes/etc...

We've just started, so please be patient.  We should be announcing a walk within a week or so.

Hopefully see you soon!

Introducing our newest team member +James O'Gorman!  Let’s hope he knows the back streets of London better than +Yoon-Mi Kim!

We’ll be meeting at Victoria train station (Cafe Ritazza near Platform '1-7' next to the Iron Duke pub) for our next Quiet London walk, then winding our way through the London streets, ending at Trafalgar Square and maybe having a drink somewhere nearby. We’ll be sharing jokes, photography tips and just shooting the breeze. Everyone is welcome, no matter what sort of camera you have or what standard you think you are :)

We look forward to walking, talking and shooting with you!

Nice!  I have an absolute slew of exercises to do daily now and lots of stretching and it just leaves you feeling really flat.Maybe we could do a QL sniper session where we just sit down somewhere and shoot the passers by!

For the first Quiet London walk we've chosen to meander and get to know you all.  It will be a casual affair walking up through Hyde Park and into Winter Wonderland (www.hydeparkwinterwonderland.com) and step back a bit from Christmas' mad rush to enjoy the scenery and catch up with acquaintances old and new.  We'd love it if you'd meander with us and if you have any photography questions there'll be someone on hand who will be able to point you in the right direction or pick this up with you afterwards.

There will be excellent opportunities for long exposures at the fairground, so be sure to bring your tripod for after dark and before the mulled wine!

Rules for photography at Winter Wonderland
Photography and filming on site is allowed for personal use only
Do not take cameras onto the ice rink
Do not take pictures or film the children
Do not block pathways with tripods otherwise security will ask you to move on

Introduction
Tune out the rest, it's just you and London.

We like to meet new people, shoot and laugh... a lot. It's not a particularly grand idea but we like it. We aim to meet up at least once a month and discover some hidden jewels in the city. All are welcome!

The admins for Quiet London are Yoon-Mi KimAndrew Clifton-Brown and James O'Gorman
