BestBullySticks, being all about everything dog-related, is using the opportunity to spread the word about animal rights. In honor of this important week, we’ve put together a brief history of animal rights as well as some valuable information about how you can become involved in your community.

This event originated in 1999 by the animal rights group in defense of animals is to help raise awareness of the rights of animals by educating the public about the basic needs of animals.

June 11 2017 - Just One Day

Today, June 11th, 2013 many shelters across the country have taken a pledge for #JustOneDay to not euthanize any animals and instead post them online or hold adoption events. Congratulations on adopting your new dog or cat from the Muncie Animal Shelter during the #JustOneDay campaign!

A day is 24 hours. A day can be something we look forward to, but in U.S. animal shelters, a day represents 10,411 lives needlessly lost. But, June 11, 2016 is a DAY that will change everything for more than 10,000 companion animals, and a day that can change the world.

World Pet Memorial Day - Sunday, Jun 11

#WorldPetMemorialDay is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of our pets that have a special place in our hearts forever. There will come a day when we have to say goodbye, but there are so many ways that we can commemorate them once this happens.
Each year on the second Sunday in September, people come together in observing #NationalPetMemorialDay. On this day, pet owners honor their pets, both past and present and think about and share with others the important role that their beloved pets have played and continue to play in their lives.
