Sorry to see Ezra Kucharz leaving CBS Local Media. This guy was/is a brilliant digital strategies & operator (which is why be won Borrell's Award of Merit in 2010). He drove CBS to top 2% in digital revenue performance. Quite a feat. I hope he stays in the industry, because, Lord knows, there are quite a few media companies who could use his expertise.  http://bit.ly/1VEwU81

Roughly nine of every 10 businesses in the U.S. is an SMB, and more than half of the U.S. employee base works for one. However, when it comes to paying for digital marketing services, a new study finds that these SMBs are drastically out-spent by larger businesses/enterprises. According to a new

Radio, Schmadio.  Who listens anymore? That's what most people think.  But there's growing evidence that radio is on the verge of some sort of weird renaissance.  https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/1-medium-gordon-borrell?trk=mp-author-card

Perry Sook just capped off a buying spree of television and digital assets over more than a decade. He now runs the biggest TV company of all. What happens next will be interesting.  https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/perry-sook-king-hill-gordon-borrell

Gonna be a banner year for local advertising, growing 16%, the vast majority of which will be fueled by growth in online.  Brace yourself for the "X" year.

Looks to me as though TV might be in a little trouble here.  When 42% of advertisers say they plan to cut or eliminate TV spending, there's certainly something abrew.  https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/could-tv-more-trouble-than-yellow-pages-gordon-borrell?trk=pulse_spock-articles

RTBR did a good job summarizing the findings of this "Expert Panel" regarding the future of broadcast (and print). Wondering whether TV/radio industry will react. Defensively?  Open-minded? Fait accompli?

I used to deliver The Inquirer back in the 1960s, and aspired for 2 decades to be a writer there (I never got the job). So this is a sad turn of events, but at least offers hope that the past will live on. Like oldtime radio in Sirius XM, perhaps......

Seth's Blog: Understanding local media

Local media was an essential business for a century, largely for three reasons: 1. Broadcast signals and newspaper trucks could only travel

We've used Roan Electrical for many years -- probably since the 1980s -- and I've always found them to be very professional. They're one of those old-time family businesses, the kind who show up on time and take a lot of pride in their work. You basically don't get hoodwinked or overcharged. One of two or three service providers we've kept for years because they're just.....good and reliable.

My wife and I sent our 3 children here and we loved the school. It's large enough to have a professional feel and resources and small enough to offer personalized attention. Christopher Academy played a very formative role in our children's lives, and set them on a solid path to enter junior high and high school with a very well-rounded education. Can't say enough about this school.

These guys are great. I was just telling my wife this morning, after we dropped off our Caravan for brake work, that it's great to be able to trust a mechanic. They do work on time, and last time I took another car in (a BMW), they had planned to do some maintenance and change the spark plugs but told me when I returned that it wasn't necessary to change the plugs. Been going to Harris Tire since the 1980s and certainly plan to keep it up. Miss the old management (where's Bob?), but John's a terrific manager, too.
